First person - POV

I slipped, closing my eyes and readying myself for the impact.

After hearing the rumors and stories of Mt. Ebott I was pretty curious about this infamous mountain. Did it actually make people disappear? or is it just some stupid tale to scare off children? I decided to find out myself.

I sneaked out before dawn with no preparations whatsoever.

Since I used to 'hang out' near the mountain anyways, I knew the way to go. Though I've never really went up.

The view from above was nice. I rarely ever paid attention to the sunrise.

I thought I could've stayed a little longer until it started raining heavily. I wasn't exactly a fan of being sick, so I hid in a cave.

As you'd guess, it wasn't a very wonderful idea.

Well, too late now.

I only remember tripping over the edge of a massive hole in the cave, then everything went black.

This.. can't be the end..

I don't want to die..

..no, not yet..

...

I woke up on a bed of golden flowers that seemed 'to break the fall'

Well, I should get out of here... I thought to myself, wincing from the sudden pain on the right side of my head.

Dammit. Of course, the bed of flowers couldn't have broken my fall entirely.

Although it's nothing compared to the worst I've experienced, I'm not sure how I'm still alive, to be honest.

Surely the scent of blood would have alerted the predators nearby, right? I mean, this is a mountain after all.

Still trying to make sense of what happened, I glanced back at my hands, covered with small blisters and my own blood, only noticing that the flowers were also stained with a sickening amount of blood.

Struggling to get back up, I cautiously looked around, the light above being the only light source available. I could only see pitch black beyond the flowerbeds.

My vision starts to blur, and my body suddenly felt weak, no, no, no, not again.. not now...

I heard a distant voice.. before I could black out completely, I saw a blurry figure approach, and the last thing I could hear was muffled incoherent sentences.

I finally gave in to the darkness...

But it refused.
