3- Heartache

Lily's PoV :

..This kid..

I sigh, gazed sadly at the girl I found in the ruins earlier, sleeping soundly ..
She.. seemed to mature earlier than most.. and people call her 'little shit', no wonder she was so hesitant about trusting me. Though I'm glad she trusted us enough to tell us her name and age.. still.. she's much too young.. I'm.. somewhat glad she's not with the people that treated her that way, but.. why did she seem so eager about just.. getting out of here? I understand that it must be hard to take in but why did she just.. snap..? did something trigger her?

I tucked her back into the blanket and stood up and left the room, finding my now-mom in the kitchen. "Mom, do you need help with the dishes?" I offered. Toriel nodded and accepted the help, and we just started to talk about.. er.. ruins stuff ...

Once we were done, we chatted in the living room until we discussed the very topic I've been ever so anxious about.. Illys..

"Mom, when I was talking with Illys.." I hesitated for a moment, "..She.. suddenly asked me about.. leaving.."
Toriel looked startled, diverted her attention back to me.

"She just.. snapped.. out of nowhere she started asking me on how to exit the underground.."
"I tried to calm her down, but she even tried to run away.." I said dejectedly, averting my gaze from Toriel and sighed.

Toriel set her hands on my shoulders with a reassuring look, understanding the situation.
She's probably heard it one too many times..

But she suddenly just got up and told me to 'wait here' and.. ran down to the basement..

Oh no..

...

"Illys.. Illys..!" I shook the girl that was still half asleep and had just awoken from her rest.

This is the exact thing I've been worried about ever since she got here..

"ah, okay.. fine.. please stop." Illys mumbled, I stopped and stared her down. "Fine. what the heck do you want?" She snapped, glaring back. I flinched and quickly told her to SAVE..

Hesitantly, she did so, and I took her wrist and hurriedly ran to the basement. Illys tried to fight back, she was.. surprisingly.. not that weak.

I was pulled away from my train of thoughts as Illys shoved me away, realizing what I did- basically pulling her down in a dark basement for no reason, which would be terrifying for her-

I apologized.. she was unconvinced.

She just.. frowned.. angrily.. almost disappointedly..

"Please.. Illys, if you want to get out.. you need to follow me.." I begged, I can't let it end like this..

Illys took a step back defensively, "What? just a few hours ago, you ignored my questions, now you're begging me to come with?" she stopped. "Oh, I see, you're just like everybody else. You're only using me aren't you? I bet-... wai- w-what the heck are you doing?" the girl stammered in surprise

 I moved towards her, catching her by surprise I.. held her there. Silencing her, but then she struggled against me once again,

...I know, we just met each other a few hours ago, I  know we're not even that close. but please listen, if you really want to get out.. don't... don't be like this..
