Friendship is not a big thing....it's a million little things.
The bell rang signaling the end of the day's classes. Everything felt surreal to Fainwyn. She kept waiting for Meredith to tell her that everything was just an act. Earlier that day Fainwyn purposely bumped into a wall, just to assure herself she wasn't dreaming. After getting herself hurt, she was convinced that she's is indeed awake. But, she was still very apprehensive.
"Faith, are you all right?"
They were walking towards the parking lot, Monica and Roarke were already waiting for them.
"The truth? I don't know, I'm waiting for you to hurt me Mer, and this is just too unreal to me."
Meredith smiled sadly. "And, I couldn't blame you. I feel the same way."
Roarke might have heard us because he said..."Meredith, I doubt if mother is home yet, so we might as well go on an impromptu trip to the park."
We looked at each other, wanting to say much more. "Why not?" Meredith said and I nodded when they asked if I wanted to come.
When we got there, Monica and Roarke excused themselves "We'll just buy us something to nibble on, come on Monica." We all know they are setting this us so Meredith and I could talk.
We were silent for a long time until "I wanted you to go that last moment, I intended for you to find out, but I realized I loved you then already, I didn't even knew then that we were really sisters. I'm sorry. For that day and for each day that came after. Instead of saying sorry, I made you believe I hated you."
She didn't realize they were both crying until they both hiccupped.
"I'm not an innocent here, I hurt you back too, and I'm sorry. I didn't give you time to explain. I wrecked your name at school the next day without batting an eye. I was so angry at you I felt no remorse. And even though I saw you cry that day, I still didn't feel sorry. It was a week after that I wished we were back to being friends, especially when it all sinked in that we were sisters."
"I wished so much for a sister Faith, and when I had you, I sent you away. Can you ever believe that I want us to be okay now? I just want us to be sisters, in all the sense of that word."
"I wished for a sister too, Mer, and I believe you though this is going to take some time adjusting to. Us, sisters, I guess we won't be trying to outwit each other now."
"Well, I might always be mean you know, I have a mean mother."
Fainwyn looked at Meredith and saw that she believed what she just said. "You are nothing like her Mer, compared to her, you're an angel."
They both laughed at that.

Roarke and Monica were spying on Meredith and Fainwyn. At first it seemed to them that this was all pointless, for the girls were not talking to each other at all. But then they started talking, then crying, then smiling, Roarke couldn't be happier. Monica reached out to Fainwyn and Meredith's aura, and she felt it was so much brighter than it was before, the hatred she felt from both of them, now untraceable.
"Their hatred is untraceable," Monica said, forgetting herself.
"You feel it too?" Roarke asked her saucer-eyed
"Wait, what? You can sense auras too?" She was surprised in return.
They exchanged smiles and decided that the girls were okay now.

Roarke and Ika came back, bringing nothing. Meredith chuckled to herself. She was happy. She didn't care that her brother and her cousin set her up to talk to her sister. She actually felt thankful.
"Thank you." She addressed them both but Faith asked impatiently "Thanks? Why are you thanking them? They have not brought us food! Where is my food, Roarke?"
Roarke just laughed at Faith and so did we all.
"Let's head home. Before Faith devours people here." She said with no hint of malice.
They laughed.
We got home and Ika went home hugging us all goodbye.
"I'm glad you're not a bitch anymore Edith, I like this new you."
"I like this new me to Ika. It is liberating."
We laughed at our silliness, and Ika went and drove home. Roarke said he had to finish some assignments and left us. "I have a brilliant idea Faith. Why don't we do that thing they call sleepover?"
"Yes! yes! Let's have it in our house. Or, would you like it to be here?"
"No! My mother..." Meredith whispered and rolled her eyes. "You know how...."
"What do we have here? Were you girls talking about a sleepover?"
Faith and Meredith both tensed. It was Faith's mother. The witch herself. Oh, Shit! I thought she's still in the hotel.
"Yes Duchess, I asked Meredith if she would like to sleep-over at my house tonight. We would just be doing our homework together and the usual sleep-over stuff.
"Oh, why don't you have it in here?"
"Well mother, it was Fainwyn who asked first, maybe next time we'll have it here."
"Hmmn, okay girls...enjoy yourselves doing the usual sleep-over stuff."
"Yes mother, thank you."
"Thank you Duchess."
"No problem princess, I hope my daughter pleasures you...with her company."
Meredith and Faith couldn't have run, but if they could have they would, as it was they sped up to Meredith's room to take her things for the sleepover. Feeling very uneasy with the Duchess words.
