Blood, sweat, and tears. That's what it took to prepare themselves for that one big day. Except, there wasn't blood spilling, to begin with. Weeks of sleepless nights with trials and errors, may their effort be worth their time.

At the same time, Senku took this opportunity to conduct more research about past lives and get to know more about Ruri since there were just the two of them in the house most of the time.

Some days, Ruri decided to have a sleepover at Senku's which surprisingly, he didn't mind even the slightest. It was just like living in a hostel block whenever they do this project together. The best part was that Ruri could cope and adapt to being at school.

Speaking of school, they are now in their classroom, making the final preparations before heading off to their long-awaited event on the following day. What made it worse for everyone was that there was a new student in their class.

"I now present you our new student. Please, introduce yourself," said the teacher at the front.

She had brown coloured hair with pink locks decorating it. People would consider her a person with that "ideal body type". The students admired her beauty, every single curve on her body.

"I'm Laila Wilson, pleased to meet you," she grinned.

"Hold on, this doesn't seem right to me," Senku thought to himself.
If that girl is Laila Wilson or whoever the hell she is, why does she look like Luna Wright? Ten billion questions filled up his mind, and then he shook his head in disbelief.

"I know this is sudden but Laila, pick a group and please contribute to that group as they're preparing for a special event tomorrow," the teacher continued.

Laila played around with her hair and pointed out, "Sir, I would like to join Senku's group," she then covered up her mouth after realising that she blurted out his name, which she wasn't supposed to.

"Wait, you know her, Senku?" asked Ruri. "Laila Wilson? I don't know a Laila Wilson,"

"Very well," the teacher left the students to proceed with their discussions.

Laila sat at the desk next to Senku and smiled at him, "Hi, Senku."
Senku stared at her, frozen in his seat, confused too.

"You don't have to worry much, you may not know me, but I know you. You are quite famous, after all. Thank me, for I am smooth and... whoops, sorry. The useful kind of girl in any group setting,"

Smooth. Of course, Senku has heard that word from somewhere before."...smooth and capable gal..."

It rose suspicion, but he decided not to think about it... for now.

"Back to the topic. As you can see here, we've prepared a presentation about TESS. I assume you know about it, don't you?" "Hmm... Of course! My friend has mentioned it once before,"
"Great, that just made my life much easier,"
"How can I help you?"

A short pause and, "Nothing,"

"I mean, there's nothing else to be helped with unless you want to do the presenting, I don't mind. I can always give you all the pieces of information that you need for the audience,"
"Ah, brilliant! I shall present then. How about, what's your name?" Laila asked the other girl.

"Ruri,"
"Just Ruri?"
"Yeah,"

After a round of discussion, they get back to work. Senku seemed to be absorbed alright."Oh, how dreamy that guy is," Laila fantasised in that little brain of hers, dreaming of marrying Senku.

Laila went back to her little room and went up to the mirror in the corner of the room. "I hate masking SO much that I WANT TO DIE!" she ripped off her hair which happened to be a wig.

"Why did I even think of doing this in the first place?"
"Why can't I just be myself without raising suspicion??"

She fell to the floor and took a moment to wet her cheeks with salty water running from her eyes.

Right after that, she took a bath and straight up went to see Xeno. Upon arrival, she knocked on the door and put on her best face.

"Oh Xeno, honey! Open the door, please!"

Lady Luck wasn't on her side when the one who came to open the door was Stanley Snyder.
"He isn't here. He just left a while ago. Check back later," he shut the door immediately.

She can hear the faint sound of a lighter firing up accompanied by the smell of a burning cigar.
"That man,"

Just as she was about to leave the place, a car came towards her while crossing the road. She let out a loud shriek which startled the driver. Good thing he managed to push the brakes in time before crashing into the poor teenage girl.

The driver opened the door and saw the girl on the road holding onto her knees for dear life."Oh, goodness gracious. I didn't see you there, I'm sorry," Xeno picked her up and brought her inside.

"Be more careful and think more rationally next time, Luna,"
"Yes, Xeno..."

"Things are going as planned I supposed," Xeno turned his head to Luna.
"Oh, yes, definitely! I just entered their class AND their group as well. Since that's done, I should be able to know more about their little relationship and how they interact. After that, I can prevent Ruri from pursuing Senku and he shall be mine in no time, for I am a smooth and capable gal!"

She definitely has romantic ambitions. It's all merely because of jealousy taking up the space in her heart, slowly building up and eating her inside.

"Remember, you're going to a science fair, not some kind of fancy gourmet shit restaurant," Stanley met her eye to her as he walked past their convo.

"Come, Xeno, let's go,"
"Oh yes, I almost forgot,"

Both men walked away to only God knows what they were up to on this fine evening.

"The whole plan was to assassinate her, but then I can have Senku for myself, right? Right? RIGHT?"

Luna howled in laughter.

"A smooth and capable gal should never fail Commander Stanley and Captain Xeno. Therefore, I shall perform my duties as appointed,"
