"chae" yul called out, whining at the end when she ignored him. she continued to do so while heading towards the small bridge, forming a small smile secretly when she heard him following her like a lost puppy

"chae-won" he called out repeatedly, hoping for her to at least stop or turn around but she didn't. she suppressed her laugh, having fun with him whining for her. it was obvious that she was teasing him about the mention of him being in master heo's sons-in-law candidate list

"chae-" she stopped on her track, turning around and crossed her arms. she looked at him with a glare and narrowed her gaze while he sighed

"i'll ask master heo to exclude me from the list. i have absolutely no interest on young lady heo. why would i want to get married to her when i have you" he said, cupping her cheeks at the end making her break into a smile. he narrowed his eyes at the sudden smile

"you've been pretending, hasn't you?" she laughed, having fun

"i don't know. has i?" he sighed with a smile, relieved

"we should go back" she said, taking his hands off from her face and went to intertwine them but yul had something else in mind. his right hand was in hers as he used his other hand to wrap around her waist, bringing her face closer to him

she widened her eyes in surprise and felt his soft lips on her, closing her eyes as he did the same. the sound of the water and crickets accompanied them as yul slowly moved away. she fluttered her eyes open, watching as he cracked into a smile

"let's go" he said, pulling her hand as she reluctantly followed him despite her red face and overwhelming feelings of butterflies in her stomach. she likes it when he does things like that
