Surah Taha

The verses make me stop, think

when life is ever on the brink...

All in the world that I chase,

what and who will save my face?

When I stand, my sins bare in front of my lord,

scarred, scared, shattered, scattered in discord?

All the endeavors of mine,

will they save me when it's time?

Each day in the world I roll in dismay,

how will my soul endure that one day?

Am I not aware of what folks saw before me,

what if, before it's late, my infractions don't cease?

Am  I going to be just fine till the hour,

how will I reclaim my soul's straying honor?

How hard is it going to be,

before I would be able to breathe?

Where would my veins land me after I perish,

in one dark grave or where my Lord would cherish

Amidst souls countless in line and broke

will I be one transgressor or the paradise folk!?

But it soothes my soul, the Surah Taha,

so while I'm still in faith,  am I worthy of his Raahah!?
