Matt pov

     I stood outside the big wooden door, waiting for someone to open it. Just then, the door swung open, and a shorter blonde woman stood in front of me, calling out, "Matt!" Kelly squeezed me as hard as she could. "Hi Kelly!" I heard people in the background yelling my name, "Matt's here!" I walked in and was greeted by my friends, I was looking for one specific person, "John!" I yelled. He jumped down the stairs and almost knocked me over with the strength of his hug. His arms were wrapped around my neck, even though he was taller. I wrapped my arms around his middle area and squeezed. We stayed hugging for a few minutes, and after I heard a cough from one of our friends, I released him but immediately started talking, "Oh my god, I need to see the scarf you were talking about, the one that you posted about!" He smiled big and took my hand, and we started up the stairs. "I made the matching pants and hoodie, and I might wear it when we go walking through the lights tonight." I nodded. He talked about how he got a new sewing machine and how he was working on a painting right now—apparently a big one.

We made it to the guest room he would be staying in, and there was the scarf. He picked it up and walked over to me, saying, "Here, try it on. I wanna see how it looks on you." I smiled and blushed like an idiot when he wrapped it around my neck and said, "Aw, see, that looks cute on you." I don't know how, but my smile got bigger. "Thank you, John!" He kept looking over my body; I could feel blood rushing to my face and ears. "D-do you like what you see?" I laughed, holding onto the scarf and hiding my face. "Of course I do." He laid his elbows on my shoulders, and I grabbed his waist and said, "Tonight we are going to go eat, and then look at Christmas lights. I don't know if Tyler already told you that or not." I shook my head; he smiled a beautiful, soft smile; he appeared to be the sun. I wish I could tell him just how much I genuinely loved him; all those times he's ever said "no one loves me" would fly out of the window because someone does. I do, and I want him to know that so bad, but I don't want to ruin our friendship. He started swaying and smiling more with his teeth, a genuine smile. a smile you share with someone you care about; a smile that brightens the room; a smile that makes you feel like you've arrived in life. a smile that was plastered across lips that I wanted to kiss oh so very badly. "John... I..." I couldn't take my eyes off of his; my brain short-circuited and quit entirely, and the only thing on my mind at the moment was "John, Kryoz, John, and More John." He smiled and started leaning into me. I reciprocated his motion and also started moving forward.

"Blarg! Kryoz! It's time to go!" I sighed, and he let go of my hand, saying, "You heard him, sugar, hurry up." He winked at me, and this sent me into overdrive. I laid the scarf on his bed and went to the bathroom to splash my face in cold water before I walked downstairs. We got into cars and drove to a bakery-type restaurant that smelled like chocolate and bread. I walked up to John and grabbed his arm, holding onto him as if my life depended on it. "Damn you two; you're glued together," Eli and the others exclaimed. "I'm just cold." I wasn't completely lying. "How? This place is hot as hell." I grinned and rolled my eyes at Grizzy. "Well, Grizzy, you've got a lot of meat on you, so you'll stay warm anyway." Everyone laughed and then began to order. I got a chocolate croissant, and John got a piece of cake, I think. We sat down at a really long table and talked about stuff we would be doing for the next few days, like car meets, arcades, etc. I had my head resting on John's shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around me; it was comfortable. He also got a hot chocolate that I stole and drank about half of, I don't know why I'm so fucking cold, but Grizzy was right, it's quite warm in here. "You okay?" I looked up at John and smiled. "Yeah, are you?"

"Mhmm, I was just making sure you were comfortable." I looked down and decided I would do something risky. I stretched and kissed him on the cheek; it was a small and quick one, but I could still see his entire face brighten. I chuckled and continued eating; he scooted closer and drew me into his side, and the cold I had felt before vanished. After everyone ate, John and i split up with different friend groups to go look at lights. We were all still together but in smaller groups.

"Hey Matt, are you and John a thing?" I looked over at Grizzy and got wide-eyed. "If you guys are, I don't care, I just want to know." I walked beside him and thought for a minute, "Well, I'm pretty sure he likes me and I like him, but we aren't a thing. and if we are, we just haven't confirmed it, but I don't know." I shrugged and looked at my feet so I could see Grizzy's look. "Okay, do you want to be a thing with him?" I looked up and nodded slowly. "Then go for it; this would be the perfect place because, I don't know if you can tell, but there's mistletoe right there." I looked up ahead of us, and he was right—a big head of mistletoe was about 5 feet above us.

"I don't even know how I'd do that; also, I don't want to drag him into something he doesn't want to do." Grizzy nodded and walked off. I walked past some lights, but there was a train going through them; that's cool as fuck.

Grizzy POV

I saw that John was straying away from the group slightly, so I ran up to all of them and stopped them, saying, "Okay, hold on, we need to talk." They all looked slightly confused except for Eli. "About Matt and John? "Yes, we do." I pointed at him and nodded, "I don't know if y'all saw, but Matt kissed John on the cheek earlier, and Matt said he liked John. I was talking to John yesterday, and he said that he thought Matt was the, and I quote, "cutest person on planet earth." They all looked even more surprised now. "I think we need to get them together, and the perfect way to do that is the big ass thing of mistletoe ahead of us." "I'll push John if you push Blarg," Tyler joked. I shook Tyler's hand and ran off to go talk to Blarg again.

(sorry) Matt's POV

Grizzy approached me, and we were discussing our upcoming trip to a car show when he suddenly began pushing me, "What in fucks name are you doing?" He just giggled and stopped me in one place, and before I knew it, John was being pushed in front of me by Wildcat. "What the... oh?" He was looking up, so I did the same, and sure enough, the big ass head of mistletoe was above us. "I mean, we don't have to," I said, turning my gaze to him, who was smiling and blushing slightly. I was cut off by a pair of hands on my cheeks "Nah, I want to." He kissed me.

He finally fucking kissed me.

I smiled and kissed him back. I put my hands on his waist like I had before and kissed him like it was our last, but it was only our first. He poked at my lips with his tongue, and I happily opened my mouth slightly. I could feel his tongue roam my mouth for a minute before I heard Panda yell, "Damn, it's getting hot in here!" It was magical, his pretty green eyes sparkled with a million more colors because of the lights all around us, I laughed and pulled him in to kiss me again, I heard the group clapping and yelling for us, and this time when we broke apart, we were laughing. "Matt, do you want to be my boyfriend?" I smiled and bit my lip. I nodded, and he pulled me into a warm hug. "I've been waiting years for you to ask that." "I finally have a boyfriend, hell yeah!" john exclaimed as he stepped back from me. I laughed at how cute he was and how he was so energetic and happy. The rest of the group congratulated us, and I took John's hand and held it for the rest of the night. I'm so fucking happy.
