"Hey~ how's your sister doing? She coming back for the holidays?"
If Aether could just punch the ginger hovering behind him that he'd pass out, he would.
He had made a mistake. He approached the ginger with the intent of interrogating him about his possible role in the incident. Well, he deeply regretted his decision as he was now being harassed by the ginger.
The boy furrowed his eyebrows as he sped up, trying his best to get to school before the ginger could finally get him to snap. It annoyed him enough that he could feel Ajax's breath against his neck, but the fact he was asking about Lumine?
"C'mon, don't give me the silent treatment buddy." Ajax pouted. "You know what good friends Lumine and I were!"
"Good friend my a—" Aether grumbled under his breath. He turned to Ajax and pushes him away with one hand. "Look, Lumine hated your guts, alright? If ever she were to come back for the holidays, she's coming back for me not you."
"If she hated me, would she have dated me like four years ago? Huh? I think not!"
"And you've had like how many exes since then?" Aether's eye twitched. "Seven? Get over it. She's too good for you."
"Ouch, okay fine, you're right." Ajax raised his hands in surrender. "But I swear I'm doing this simply because it's so fun having sparred with her!"
"You're weird," Aether sighed, pushing past him to proceed with his journey to school. "Text her yourself."
"Oh c'mon!" Ajax groaned. "What do you want? I'll do almost anything! Money? Do you want money? I can help you buy a ticket to surprise your sister."
Aether stayed silent, contemplating his offer. On one hand, he could get Childe to own up to valuable information concerning the incident. On the other hand, Lumine would kill him.
"Oh well, you only live once," he muttered. "Fine then." He crossed his arms. "You have yourself a deal. However, I want you to answer my following questions with the truth and nothing but the truth."
"Sure, sure, I swear on my life." Ajax nodded, his eyes lighting up at the opportunity. "If I answer all your questions you'll tell her to unblock me, right?"
"...Yes," Aether reluctantly said. "I will."
"Alright then, hit me with 'em." Ajax rubbed his hands together excitedly.
Aether looked around them, making sure no nosy people were poking their ears into their business. There wasn't anyone other than students heading to school with headphones on.
"Where were you on the exact day and time Kunikuzushi's locker exploded?" Aether started.
"At home, watching My Little Pony with my brother Teucer."
"Alright..." Aether nodded. "When was the last time you spoke with Kunikuzushi? Did you argue some sort?"
"Dang, getting personal already, huh?" Ajax said humorously. "But no, we didn't argue. The last time I spoke to him was, uh... When I visited the school as an alumnus."
"Ah," Aether said. "You're not lying, aren't you?"
"Nope, promise. I swear on my life." Ajax placed a hand over his heart to show he was genuine.
Aether was confused. Ajax didn't seem to be lying, so then who would have ambitions to try and sabotage Kunikuzushi? Things just weren't adding up.
As he was just about to make up his mind on what to say next, a certain blueberry-haired girl came running up, brimming with tea.
