Until it didn't.
The timer you had set went off, vibrating your head. Why did it have to be now? You shut off the alarm, frowning.
Just remember till...
Immediately, V noticed. "What's wrong, Y/N?"
"Uzi needs me to come with her to pick up her gun. Says that it might be less intimidating for Thad to see a worker drone rather than a disassembly drone." You said, still swaying to the music.
You're home again...
"Oh."
You belong to me...
The song finished, the three minutes of musical composition ending. The tape ejected itself, and V let go to put it back in her...wherever. You let go, sitting back down on the comfortable chair, sighing. V was certainly correct. It was...relaxing.
You brought out your computer to type again. "V and I had "slow danced" with each other, with a music tape that she had. V probably had taken from somewhere in the empty city, kept it either out of curiosity, or enjoyed the music. Either way, I enjoyed this interview and look forward to the next one." You typed, closing the computer.
"Well, are you going?" V asked, sitting down on the chair.
"Yes, I had to type down the interview."
"Y'know, you should let me read what you type one day."
"One day."
A few minutes later, you had arrived, no need to tell you how. Uzi seemed to be freaking out, with N trying to comfort her. "Ugh, I'm sweaty! Who programmed that?"
"Uzi-"
"I'm good. I'm better than good! I am God!"
You were pretty sure God wasn't a teenage robot with father issues.
Uzi noticed Thad was there, holding her photon laser blaster, more or less just confused. She immediately tried to hide her face, the tension between them awkward.
"Hi, hi, Thad. Heh." Uzi took the gun from Thad's hands. "Thank you." She gave N a thumbs up, as you grumbled, walking over to the three drones.
"Of course, Zee. M and Ms. N/N." You frowned at the nickname. Nicknames only served to complicate matters involving names, a distraction from the real names that were assigned at birth. What a worthless existence.
"You saved my life." You were starting to regret that. "I don't even think the colony is serious about all this banishment stuff."
"More just confused. Especially with-"
"The fact I'm too rogue to reenter society now?" Uzi interrupted again. "Now I can never return."
"...the recent disappearances, and your murder friend's corpse." You hummed in thought. You knew what Thad was implying. J was alive, somehow, and causing all these recent disappearances. However, if she was truly alive, why hadn't there been a massacre at the colony already? Something was up.
As you were thinking, it seemed your assumption was correct, and J was alive. The others were surprised, scared even. You were almost expecting this. With the J consciousness being able to recover from near complete destruction, it was no surprise that J's body parts could come back, with more advanced intelligence, as the prototype J was built from near-scratch, while the original had the majority of her database.
Just didn't think it would happen so soon...
"We're gonna turn a little." Uzi nervously said, holding onto her railgun a little tighter.
