a young Eygpt played with the rim of the map rug as she listened to her teacher say that she was going to be reading from the famous children book ' Goodnight Moon'
" in the great green room there was a telephone, and a red ballon and a picture of a cow jumping over the moon" Ms.Wilson started reading from the book as she rocked herself in her rocking chair
" and there were three little bears sitting on chairs, and two little kittens and a pair of mittens" she read before hearing soft knocks throughout the classroom
Egypt and her classmates turned their heads to look out of the small rectangular window on the door where they could see a figure of a man standing holding a little boy as a brown skin woman stood beside them
" hold on class I'll be right back" she said standing up out of her green rocking chair and putting the book on it face down to hold the page that she stopped on
" hi there " Ms.Wilson said smiling when she opened the door for them
" hi, you Ms.Wilson?" The little boy's mother, Bridget asked with a fake smile plastered on her face as she smiled at the younger woman
" yes ma'am I am, and this little one must be my new student, what's your name sweetheart?" she asked smiling at the little boy that stared at her with a blank expression
His dad, Rashawn laughed making Bridget glare at him
" he doesn't talk much but his name is Da'nova" Bridget said looking away from her husband now fake smiling at her again
" aw there's nothing wrong with that at all, you ready to go meet your other classmates?" She asked smiling
he slightly shook his head no as he continued to stare at her with a blank expression
" aw, you guys are welcome to stay until he gets more comfortable" she said not wanting Da'Nova to be even more uncomfortable than he already was , last thing she wanted to do was push him too mush so she was going to let him go at his own pace
" ion think he ever gon get comfortable so we gon be here fa a while" Rashawn joked chuckling making Ms.Wilson laugh too as Bridget stood there with a straight face
" that's how most of the kids are when they first come, they have to get used to a new environment but they come out of their shell about 2 weeks in or after they get comfortable with a few of the kids" she said making him nod
