𝐏𝐨𝐯 || 𝟑𝐫𝐝
" truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken" Reverend Reeds read from Psalms 62
he continued to read from the verse before getting to the part that he would use for his sermon
" truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I shall not be shaken my salvation and honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge"
" you will not be moved"
" no matter what had you crying at night thinking it was something you could never move on from or so big that you stopped putting your trust in God, you will not be moved"
" that job that let you go, that friend or relationship that you just had to let go of because it wasn't as healthy as you wanted it to be you will not be moved, listen here my brothers and sisters, as long as our father is looking down on us you will not be moved and you will not be going nowhere in this new year or the next" he spoke at a fast pace putting his hand down on the podium as he looked around the sanctuary
something about what he said made Egypt feel a knot at the pit of her stomach, she didn't know what part resonated with her but she knew she didn't like the feeling in her stomach
" look to your neighbor and say, I will not be moved" he said
Egypt and her mom turned to each other repeating what he said along with other people in the church
he continued to preach about Psalms 62 relating it to things that happened in his life and to the new year for about another hour or so
" I'm not gon keep y'all much longer my brothers and sisters cause I know y'all wanna get out of here and eat those after service meals and watch y'all pictures" he said making the crowd laugh
" bow yo heads and close yo eyes, dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for allowing us to enter a new year with or without the people or things that you removed from our lives because they didn't align with your bigger picture for us, we ask for you to continue to do that and keep us on the right track because you know what is right for us and what will happen to help put us there, Lord I ask that the message gave upon today does not fall deaf on the ears of those who wanted to come and couldn't make it and those who have lost their way but happened to find their way home, I ask that everyone in this room leaves with an understanding of what was said and holds on to it" He prayed bowing his head with his eyes closed
