“So…I take it he’s another pawn in that asshole’s little game?” Jack quietly asked Brian, who was seated at Jack’s desk.
The two had been talking about Toby, all thanks to Jack’s curiosity. He didn’t really know anything about the brunette. In reality, Toby was just thrown into Jack’s room with no real explanation, leaving too much room for questions in the demon’s mind. Finally after waiting for a while he decided to sit Brian down and talk to him.
“You must’ve forgotten, you’re one of those pawns too, Jack.” Brian crossed his arms, not really wanting to get onto the topic of his boss, the Slenderman.
Toby quietly sat on his bed, too zoned out to pay attention to the ongoing conversation. He was far more focused on wrapping his hands, which were covered in fresh bite marks. For the past two days he had been relentlessly stressing, and biting his hands was the only thing that seemed to help.
“I’m not a very valuable one though, that’s where I differ from the rest of you toys. Slender isn’t a big fan of me thanks to what happened to Tim. He only pays attention to me so I don’t go killing his bitch-boy.” Jack stated, “Do I really count as a pawn?”
Brain remained silent for a moment before letting a long sigh out, he knew he couldn’t really argue with Jack on that. He was right. Even before the incident with Tim, Jack never listened to their boss. He instead went against the man’s every word. That ranged from breaking small rules to verbally fighting with him. Whatever Jack could do to make the man mad, he did. And after that incident he became reclusive. In the eyes of Slender was too dangerous to be trusted, so he was left alone.
Granted, Jack wasn’t like that with just Slender, he was like that with everyone. Before everything one of Jack’s favorite things to do was to pick out fights with Jeff or blatantly manipulate people into doing whatever he wanted. There were many, many times he left someone at the brink of death. There were also many times he would completely break someone’s mind. That was just one reason people began to fear him, once they figured out what he was doing. Then Tim happened and everyone made sure to stay away. Brian and Pain were the only people who talked to him. They had a love-hate relationship with Jack, thanks to his one-of-a-kind personality.
“Anyways, what even got him in here? He doesn’t seem all that badass to me.” Jack stated while wiping some of the bloody tar from his cheek.
“I mean, he killed his dad and set a whole neighborhood on fire. Since then he’s killed a few people.” Brain started, “I don’t know the exact reason Slender wanted him, all he said was Toby could kill and we want that. I’m sure there’s more to the story though, there always is.”
Jack simply nodded and went to silence, focusing on Toby, who looked annoyed. The demon figured it had to do with the conversation that just took place, seeing as how it was about the teen across the room. But he thought Toby was too wrapped up in his own world to actually notice.
“Staring is a little rude, don’t you know?” Toby grumbled as he shied away from Jack’s gaze.
“It’s not like I’m plotting against you, Twitch.” Jack bitterly stated, “I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on with you and why you’re here.”
