description: brendon goes back in time to save the love of his life
year started: 2018-2019
---
brendon was sitting in his dark corner again. beer bottles were circled around his drunken body. its been years but he is not getting better. maybe even worse. on his days off, this is what he's been doing. josh tried to bring him to therapy or just nice walks around the parks. it worked for a few months, but after the anniversary, he went back to the state he was before. josh helps him as much as he can. he cleans for him, tries to feed him, and talk to him. brendon lost many important people because of his behaviors. josh feels like it's his job to taken of him; ryan was his friend too.
brendon took the neck of the only filled beer bottle and took a long sip. he only does it to make him feel better, but he only feels worse and worse with each sip that he takes. before he even knows it, the bottle is empty. the bottle is empty and he didn't feel a thing. not even from a drop. the only thing he's felt these past few years was the huge pang from his heart that just keeps on feeding pain.
there was a little click from the front door. in brendon's chest he wanted to believe it was him. it wasn't. of course it wasn't. because he's fucking gone.
josh came into the room. he had the shiniest, saddest smile there ever was. "hey bren," he said as he placed his bag on the floor and crouched down to his level. "how are we feeling?" josh asks that everytime. and everytime brendon doesn't answer. josh already knew. he stood back up and went to the other room.
he came back with a trash bag in hand. josh picked up each bottle that surrounded brendon. "things have been going well at work these past few days," he started as the bottles clinked against each other, "we got the time machine finished."
"time machine?"
"yeah, bud, it's finished. we tested it and everything," josh smiled already seeing brendon's eyes twinkle after months. "i can ask tyler if you can come over and see it."
"wait, really?" josh is just so amazed about how much color is already showing on his skin.
"and maybe if you're really lucky he might even let you use it."
the smile that brendon is showing is the most real and star shining smile that he's ever seen since...since... he left.
