It Was Always You

Chapter 3

"Well you should...." Emma is so cute. She is sooo strong for 10 year old with Leukemia. Poor baby. She looks out for my Char though... Wait. Did I just say "My" Char? That's weird. That has honestly never happened before. Anyways I have to get back to Niall. I told him I would be back by 5:00. Looks like that didn't work out.

"Niall I'm home!" I screamed as I shut the door behind me.

"I'm in the kitchen mate." Niall screamed back at me. He was probably making food, like always.

"How was Char?" He asked when I reached the kitchen.

"Like always. She didn't move or anything. Just laid there. Niall this is to hard. I can't do this. It's hard to sit there and stare at Charlotte like that."

"I know Liam, I know it's hard but what are we supposed to do? Leave her there by herself?"

"I dont know but this is killing me inside."

We had been going to visit Charlotte less and less. I dont know why but it was easier this way. The more distance we put between ourselves and Char's hospital bed, the easier it was to deal with everything.

"Liam! I'm going to the hospital." He was on the couch on twitter.

"Ok buddy I'll probably be there later on." I left our apartment and headed to the hospital.

"Hello Mr.Horan, how are you today?" the woman at the front desk asked me.

"I'm fine Laura, thanks for asking. Any update on Charlotte?" The doctors are stumped as to why Chars in a coma. There's no medical reson for it, shes just in it. Personally, i think it's because she's afraid. Charlotte's afraid of what might happen after she recovers, shes afraid of those men who left her to die.

"No nothing sorry Niall."

"It's ok Laura. See ya later."

"Bye Niall!" I walked to Char's room and opened the door. I was immeadiately hugged by Emma.

"Hey Em!" I said as I picked her up and hugged her. "How are you girl?"

"I'm good Niall! I havent seen you in sooo long! I'm so happy you're here!"

"I am too Em! Hows Charlotte been?"

"Shes good. I talk to her when no one's here and I know she hears me." Em smiled her wide bright smile at me. This little girl was so amazing. she gone through so much in her short life but she's still so positive.

"Wow you must be special then." i looked at Charlotte's limp body. One of the kind nurses had put makeup on her so she looked more like herself. Whenever I came Emma would help me do her hair and each time we did it differently. My feelings for Charlotte grew everytime I saw her. These feelings scared me and i didn't know how to handle them.

"I am special Niall!" Emma snapped me out of my trance and brought me back to reality.

"Yes I know you are my favorite little girl."

"Hey Niall?"

"Yeah Love?"

"Someone came to visit Charlotte the other day. and it wasnt Liam. there were two other men with them. They thought I was sleeping but I wasnt." My heart sunk. Three other men? How did they find Char?

"Emma I need you to listen to me. What did these guys look like? What did they say?" Emma looked up at me.

"Niall only one talked. He had brown, curly hair and a really deep voice. He scared me Niall. I don't want him to come back." A tear rolled down her tiny cheek and I pulled her close.

"I know baby, but you have to tell m what he said." More tears came down her cheek and she burried her face into mine.

"He got really close to Char's face and said that she shouldve died and he was going to make sure that what he started would be finished." Emma was really crying now and it broke my heart.

"I will make sure they don't come back here again. Don't talk to hear do you hear me? He's not good If you see him pretend you're sleeping and cover your eyes."

"Ok Niall I will just don't let him hurt me ok?"

"I wont let him near you or Charlotte I promise." She hugged me and for the rest of the day we played games for the rest of the day untill She fell alseep in my arms.
