Two years passed since electro archon closed herself off in the Plane of Euthymia leaving her people to themselves. After such a long time she finally decided to step out of that place and return to her nation, she missed someone dear to her and could not handle the separation anymore. Awoken in her palace she decided to go to her trusted general that oversaw Inazuma city for her, she wanted to ask if anything has happened during her absence and most importantly where is Miko as she couldn't stop thinking about her beloved. She missed her a lot and all she desired was to embrace her wife and never let her go this time for sure. On her way to Kujou's office she walked through cherry blossom garden, beauty of those flowers and their magnificent color resembled her one and only.
She knocked on the door startling Sara as she did not expect any visit and definitely not from the electro archon herself. Immediately cleaned her desk from unnecessary papers and got up to greet her ruler. Ei smiling gave her a sign to sit down and said:
"Dear Sara you shouldn't be that serious and official whenever you see me, we do work pretty close after all and I treat you as a friend not someone who is under me. Since I'm back I would want you to give me a report of more important events that happened during my absence."
Her general gave her detailed report, nothing was of real importance as Inazuma has been peaceful ever since abolishment of Sakoku Decree. Archon didn't really pay much attention, she knew that was just formality as she should show interest in her nation afterwards she asked the question that actually mattered for her.
"Where is Miko? I would like to meet with her as soon as possible in order to discuss more private matters." she said nervously trying to hide her excitement as she could not wait any longer to see her kitsune.
"I was expecting you'd ask about her. Miko has been quite busy lately with meeting Ayaka due to them preparing everything for Irodori Festival that will take place in about few weeks." Sara answered with a little smile on her face knowing how attached to each other those two were.
"Is that so? Where are they meeting at?" Ei asked trying to hide her jealousy as the only part she focused on was that her beloved was meeting with another woman completely ignoring the latter part of the message. Were the insecurities getting better of her?
"They are currently at Uyuu Restaurant..."
"Thank you so much Sara I will take my leave now, you were a great help to me as always." elector archon said this, not letting her general finish the sentence and left in a rush. It was already past sunset, she was heading towards the restaurant two of them were supposed to be at this moment. Confused with her thoughts, overthinking everything. Could Miko get tired of her? After all it wasn't the first time it happened, they were separated for even longer before. Was she too problematic for her? Could she not give her enough time? She knew her beloved deserve the best yet she couldn't always give her all of this due to nature of being an archon and the responsibilities she had. Ei was jealous, sad and disappointed in herself, her mood caused the weather to change and it started raining.
She unnoticeable entered the restaurant and looked for the pink kitsune. She noticed her with Ayaka by one of the tables discussing something and having a dinner together, not wanting to get noticed she hid behind the wall and tried to listen to their conversation while peeking at them secretly. Electro archon could hear them talking about the upcoming festival but she did not think that it was the only purpose of their meeting, in the end her insecure nature won and made her think they are there for a different reason not just to discuss work related stuff. When the two of them got up Ayaka slipped and ended up in Miko's arms.
"Ayaka you should be more careful, we don't want anything to happen to such a beautiful young lady as yourself. " Miko said teasingly while laughing a little. Electro archon seeing and hearing all this left the restaurant in tears, thinking that her worst thoughts turned out to be truth. Yae miko however spotted her beloved archon leaving the restaurant, excused Ayaka and ran after her. She caught up to her quite fast, grabbed her lover by the shoulder to stop her, turned her around and embraced her.
"Ei why did you not join us?"
"I did not want to ruin anything for you. I could see the two of you had so much fun together and.." electro archon mumbled quietly while her tears and drops of rain were falling down her face.
"What do you mean sweetheart? We only talked about the upcoming festival, what silly thoughts did you have in your head? I'm sure you remembered my promise, the one I told you before we got separated for the first time." Miko replied while wiping tears off Ei's face, giving her a gentle kiss on the head and hugging her tightly afterwards.
"I remember very well yet I can not stop thinking that you deserve someone better, someone that would be by your side always, someone that has less things on her shoulders, someone that is less dramatic.. someone that would be better than me.." Ei said that and burst into tears again shortly after while holding onto her lover tightly.
"Listen darling there will never be anyone better than you, no matter what we will be going through I will love only you and will stay true to my feelings for as long as I live. You should not bother your little head with such thoughts." electro archon's wife replied wiping tears off Ei's face again. "Let's get under some cover since it's started raining quite heavily my dear." Two of them moved under the roof of the closest building. Miko held her beloved in her arms, she could feel her archon clinging onto her and didn't want to disturb her as she know it is what she needed.
"I missed you sweetheart, every day I thought of you and wanted you back. I will always wait for you, support you and share the burden of ruling the nation with you. World changes over the years yet I'm the constant in your life. You will never lose me, not even as a lover as you're the only one I could ever want. I love you Ei." pink kitsune said gently and smiled at her wife. Her presence made her so warm inside, something that she has not felt since the last day they were together.
"I love you too Miko.." Ei quietly replied with her weak voice. She could not be happier after what she just heard which calmed her down.
Two of them were cuddling under the cover of a rooftop while waiting for the rain to stop, occasionally exchanging kisses and looking into each other's eyes. The lights on the street were pointing at them like they'd be the highlight of the night. The most loving couple in the Inazuma city. Both of them were overjoyed that they were together with each other finally and no one could separate them in that moment. In love forever, In relationship for eternity.
