*A few years Later*

"I'm not so sure about this." I sighed, "I just don't think it looks right?"

"Mum, I've told you before. I don't like wearing bows in my hair." Hallie scorned, crossing her arms in a huff.

"But you look so cute with them in, in your little dress too, It will look so cute."

"I don't even want to wear this dress!" She shouted, throwing herself to the ground and kicking her legs.

"We're going out for dinner, we have to all look nice. Mummy's wearing a dress, look!"

She continued to scream and throw a tantrum on the ground. It wasn't easy having a son going through the original terrible 2's and a daughter going through them, still, at age 4.

"Come find me when you're not being a drama queen Hal."

I picked up the dirty washing from her washing basket and went downstairs.

"You'd think I started a war, I only told her that she looked so pretty in her dress and a bow would look nice in her hair." I sighed.

"She's got your emotions that's for sure." Daniel responded.

He was lying on the ground playing with our son, James.

James was a carbon copy of Daniel. He had brown curly hair and an even tanned skin, his little brown eyes would melt butter just by looking at it. He was also the total opposite of Hallie.

Hallie was sassy and generally she would never stop talking. If you had something to say? Hold it. She'll be talking constantly. She had a little heart of gold but her drama shows were exhausting, for her and me. Her Dad was her idol, anything he did would have her approval. She has him wrapped around her little finger.  James was quiet, not that he could talk around Hallie even if he did want to. He liked to play quietly with his toys, Hallie was like a hurricane in Florida.

Her little pitter patter of feet came running down the stairs and in to the living room.

"Wow Hal, I love your dress! You look so pretty!"

"Thanks Daddy," she smiled, "I like it too."

I opened my mouth in shock and Danny shot me a wink to tease me.

"I'm glad your brothers on my side, it's not like either of you ever are."

I picked James up and put his shoes on his feet.

A few moments later we were all in the car and on our way to the restaurant.

"Who are we going to see again and why do we have to dress like this?"

"Lots of people." Daniel replied, "Uncle Lando will be there-"

She squealed in delight, startling James who was just about to fall asleep.

"Max-"

"But that means Penelope will be there, she's okay but she's so loud she doesn't stop talking to me!"

"Now you know how I feel." I interrupted, "I think sometimes you like to talk a lot too."

"I don't think that's true."

"You're right Hal," Daniel said, "I don't think you talk enough."

He reached over and squeezed my thigh with his hand. "You look great tonight."

I felt like I had lost myself a little since James was born. I didn't have work to go back to or any sort of formal routine, Daniel was home with us for the first year but the past year he was back racing again so we were constantly travelling with him at the weekends.
