Katsuki’s POV:
‘He’s definitely become more vulnerable’ I thought to myself. I mean, I wasn’t wrong. Let’s be honest here, I’m never wrong, but especially here, I wasn’t wrong when it came to his vulnerability. He wasn’t this sensitive before, but it’s understandable why he is like this.
He ended up hugging me back and calming down more, which honestly surprised me, but at least he trusted someone. I didn’t want him living in fear for the rest of his life, and if he did, it would break my heart even more. We sat there in silence, hugging each other and taking in each other's warmth. It was comfortable, and soothing to have him back, and I think that he’s also happy being back (I hope). I started running my fingers through his hair, which made him tense up at first, but he soon calmed down. I could tell that he was relaxed, which in this case, is great. I continued running my fingers through his red and white hair, probably making him tired as his eyes began to close slowly. He tightened his arms around me slightly, although I didn’t care. As long as he felt safe, that’s all that mattered.
He fell asleep after a few more minutes, which didn’t at all surprise me. I didn’t want him sleeping on the floor (Which is where we currently were), so I gently picked him up and placed him on the bed. Shiroi jumped up on the bed next to him after I put him on the bed. Surprisingly Shoto didn’t wake up, which made me glad. He needed to rest, it was a long day for him (more like a half day since it was only like 2 in the afternoon). I left the room without him noticing since he was cuddling with Shiroi, since she was okay with it considering she loves to cuddle.
The doctor earlier suggested I hire a psychiatrist for Sho, which I took into consideration. It kinda circled whether I should or not, but I figured we should try it out. If Sho didn’t like it, then I’d get rid of them. I wanted what was best for him, and I honestly believed that a psychiatrist would help with his past year mental trauma, so I believed that we could give it a try.
After a long time (lots of questioning later) I had finally found one that could help. I explained to them the basis of what happened. I really only told them that he was tortured for the past year of his life, and if they wanted to know more, I’d want Sho telling them because that would be his choice to or not. Anyways, I eventually got done with the questioning and was told that someone will show up tomorrow around lunchtime.
I went to the bedroom to check on Sho, and to my surprise, he was still fast asleep with Shiroi cuddling by his side. I took this opportunity to take a picture because it was a very adorable moment, and I couldn’t pass this opportunity. I stuffed my phone with the picture into my pocket and left him to sleep for a while longer.
It was almost dinnertime, and he probably hasn’t had a good meal in a VERY long time (other than being at the hospital, and even then it wasn’t the best, trust me, I tried their food). I never forgot that his favorite food was cold soba, so of course, I decided to make that. All in all it’s a pretty easy dish, just boiling noodles and a few more things that went with it.
After a short while, dinner was finished, although I hadn’t heard anything from Sho yet. If he was still sleeping, I’d be surprised. I hope that wasn’t the case since I would have to wake him up, but I really didn’t want to do that.
“S-Sho…” I stepped into the room, expecting him to be sleeping even though I didn’t want to wake him up. What I saw though, was worse than that. Shoto was sitting on the bed wrapped in his blanket, Shiroi next to him still sleeping. He had tears streaming down his cheeks and a terrified expression plastered on his face. He looked up at me like he’d just been through death. “Sho, what happened,” I rushed over to him, making him flinch and back up a bit. I stopped and looked at him, seeing his terrified expression even more.
