Somehow, we got there in 45 minutes. Don't ask me how.

Checking the time as Ayelet parallel-parked, it was 7pm. It's advised to get to the place 30-45 minutes before it starts, so we had about 30 minutes to do whatever.

Upon telling Ayelet this, she told me that there was a "cutesy shop" near us, as she called it. What does that even mean?

Opening the door when we walked over there, a bell chimed above us.

Not many people were in the shop, but it sure was cute, as my cousin described. The things that were sold there ranged from jewelry to stuffed animals to anime figurines.

We spent 20 minutes there before we decided that it was time to go. However, before we left, we got each other matching necklaces.

Putting them on, we locked arms and walked to the show.

Finally entering the building, I felt as if I was at Broadway, even though I knew I wasn't.

I stood at the entrance for a moment, admiring the elegance of everything, but it got crowded quickly.

I felt Ayelet take my hand, dragging me away. "C'mon, let's get some snacks and stuff before it starts."

Getting to the snack area, I was fighting against getting literally anything there.

"Just something? What about a pack of Sour Patch Kids?"

"What if I die from a sugar overload!?"

"You're not going to, Akuji..."

"You don't know that."

She sighed. "How heavy are you?"

"112 pounds, the last time I checked."

She then took out her phone and typed something into what looked like a calculator, from what I could see.

"You need to have about 29 packs of Sour Patch Kids before you're going to die, you'll be fine with just one."

I was still reluctant.

"Fine, if you're not getting any, then I'm getting them."
"Fine with me."

We then hung around that area for a bit (with a little more arguing from Ayelet, trying to convince me to get something), then we were allowed into the stage room.

The show started about 15 minutes later.

It was great! I was having a lot of fun, watching it live instead of as a movie on TV.

But, in my enjoyment, I forgot about some key components of the show, such as the chandelier looming above everyone.

During the iconic musical overture, I was fixed on the stage, mesmerized by the Phantom hypnotizing Christine once again during The Point of No Return along with the song...oh, the songs.

Now, one thing that I should recall about this is that Ayelet and I were sitting right under the chandelier, one of the key components of the show, as I said.

Once the Phantom "cut" the chains keeping it up, it came plunging down, straight to us.

I immediately sunk into my seat when I realized, trying to get as far from it as possible. I'm fairly certain that Ayelet also sank into her seat, but not as much as me. I was practically on the ground.

And when it felt as if it was going to crash down onto the floor, it swung onto the stage.

I slowly sat back up once it did, with Ayelet doing the same, except she was laughing as my heart was racing and my breath was heavy.

"Well, that was exhilarating!" she whispered to me.

"Terrifying, really," I whispered back. "I thought we were going to die right then and there."

"Why would they kill all of these people? They'd get a major lawsuit."

"You never know what could happen by accident."

"I'm sure they tested it before doing this."

"I'm glad that we didn't die either way."
