The Everboys were practicing shooting , Tedros leading them. Agatha hid behind a tree while watching as Sophie walked up to Tedros.
"Hi. Sorry, didn't mean to distract you." Sophie said gently.
"Heh. Nothing distracts me." Tedros said. To prove his point, he shot an arrow and it hit bulls eye.
Sophie smiled at him, "Then maybe I'm just good luck."
"Don't flatter yourself. It's prince's code. Your arrow flies straight if you're pure of heart." Tedros explained.
Sophie looked at Agatha for help, the latter girl signaled her to shoot an arrow. So Sophie confidently snatched the bow from Tedros' hands making him chuckle.
"What do you think you're doing?" he asked.
"Where I come from, girls are allowed to do anything boys do." Sophie said confidently.
"It's got nothing to do with you being a girl. Nevers can't shoot. The whole lack of pure heart and all." Tedros said matter of factly.
"I told you, I am not a Never."
"Oh, please, not a never. Keep your elbow tight..." Tedros said, moving closer to Sophie to help her stance. "Extend this and relax the grip." Tedros and Sophie turned to look at each other, not shying away from the close proximity. Agatha looked away. She did feel some sort of guilt. She felt like she's betraying Mia. "It helps if you focus on the target." Tedros said, moving Sophie's face towards the target gently which she playfully shrugged off with a flirty smile before relenting, making both of them chuckle. "Take it away."
Agatha took a deep breath before using her finger glow to make sure Sophie hits her target. And that, she succeeded, making Tedros laugh and clap his hands in amazement. "Never doubted you for a minute." he said. "Do you want to hang out?"
"I don't know. With who?" Sophie asked seductively.
"Just some prince who wants to get to know you, Mia's friend, better. I'm sure Mia would love this news, that her friend is actually an Ever and not a Never." Tedros said. The mention of Mia's name irritated Sophie for some reasons.
"Why would she?" Sophie asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, why would the granddaughter of Maleficent, the Mistress of Evil, be happy to know that I'm not bad? I think she'd be very disappointed." Sophie revealed making Tedros look at her with a frown. "Oh she didn't tell you? I though she would with you being close friends and all." She smirked when Tedros shot an arrow harshly.
"You're up."
Agatha saw Sophie mouthing a thank you at her, not catching their last topic. She smiled at Sophie encouragingly. But deep down she knew something was wrong. As if she feels Sophie did something she'd disapprove.
