Bellarke -Another Day in Phoenix!

Chapter 2: Starting School.

It'd been a week since we'd moved and my mother had already made sure I was ready to start school as soon as possible, and as soon as possible means... Today! I'm not used to living here yet, I just want my mother to see that I'm hurting! I miss everything and everyone so much back home and she's just acting normal like nothing's changed.

"Clarke, breakfast." My mother shouted.
"Coming!" I told her and grabbed my bag.
I came downstairs and saw her in the kitchen. She put 2 boiled eggs in front of me with soldiers all cut at exactly the same length 2cm wide and 7cm length,(just the way I like it).

Since my father was arrested things between me and my mother haven't been great we spent most of the time in silence but this morning she was just reminding me of what to do at school. As we sat in silence me and my mother heard the door creak.

"Miss Griffin." We heard someone call. It sounded like a girl.
"My mum told me you asked for these." She handed my mother some parts to go with her new med kit.
"Thanks Octavia, you didn't have to do that. I could've popped round for them?" My mother told her.
"No really? It's fine, I was just on my way to school and thought I'd pop them in.

The girl was very pretty. Chocolate brown eyes, brown hair and tanned skin. She was like every guys dream girl.
"Is this you daughter?" She asked my mother pointing at me.
"Yes, that's Clarke." My mother told her. She walked over to me and shook my hand.
"Nice to meet you Clarke, I'm Octavia Blake. I can see you're going to my school. Wanna walk together?" She asked.
"That'd be nice! I don't know anyone!" I told her. My mother handed me my bag and kissed me on the cheek.
"Have a great day sweetie, everything's gonna be okay!"
I didn't say anything to my mother I just walked off with Octavia.

We walked up the road to the school and it looked mysteriously isolated.
"Wow." Octavia said and I thought she was about to tell me something.
"What?" I asked.
"Your bag... It costs a fortune! The toast on your breakfast was all the same length and you live in one of the biggest houses in the neighbourhood! You're like a princess!" She said and then I realised she was actually commenting on me not telling me anything.

"So we got ourselves a princess huh?" A boy asked that quickly walked in front of us. Octavia laughed and looked at him. For a minute I thought they were a 'thing' but I soon realised they were just friends.
"So what's Princess's name?" The boy asked.
"Oh right of course!" Octavia said and she realised she should've introduced us.
"Clarke... Murphy. Murphy... Clarke."

So I guess I had 2 friends! I guess I was lucky in a way. At home I only really had 1 friend and here I already had 2.
We were soon joined by almost all of Octavia's group... Murphy, Finn, Raven, Jasper, Monty and Harper. I'd been in the group for not even a day and I already had a nickname! I'm not complaining... It's not like it's Fat Rat!

Octavia walked me home and I asked if she wanted to hang for a bit. We went in my room and she saw how empty it was.
"Don't worry Clarke! I'll help you decorate! I think you need it." She said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, but not right now! I've gotta get home. It's movie night and if I don't get home my brother will flip!"
"Brother?" I asked confused. It was very rare for anyone to have a brother. The law was that you're only aloud 1 child to keep the population low. I don't know why?
"Yeah. I'm the youngest. I guess I'm lucky that I'm not... Ya know? My aunt gave up her chance of having a child so my mum could have another! Technically I'm hers but she would never take me from my mom." Her phone started to ring.
"I've gotta take this!" She said and answered it.
"Hello... Hey okay slow down! Bell, I'll be home in a minute okay..." She hung up and told me she had to go.

I went to bed later that night and for once I wasn't actually dreading waking up the next morning!
