"That's all?"

Though still intrigued, the skeleton definitely knew how to be dramatic at times. Flowey knew that of course, but this was a great example.

"It's harder than I expected! Mettaton makes it seem so easy, what with all his albums," Papyrus rambled, happy to finally have someone to talk about this with.

He saw the flower roll his eyes, "Mettaton probably has those made for him, you can do way better than that rust bucket!"

And though a little offended that he would insult mettaton, the compliment left Papyrus seemingly speechless. A weird feeling for him, he loved to talk.

"Earth to Papyrus, you ok buddy?" Flowey teased at the staring skeleton.

"Oh yes! The Great Papyrus is fine!! Thank you for your input friend, Flowey, I'll be sure to use it, goodbye!"

The volume was much too loud for their proximity, but Papyrus had other things on his mind, things that made him scramble away from Flowey as fast as his bones could carry him.

To be honest, he'd run in a completely unknown direction, but luckily it had been the one that led to his home.

He slid to the front door, almost dropping his keys many times, before opening the door and slamming it behind him.

'Phew,'  he sighed, sliding to the floor dramatically.

"..what's up, paps?"

The familiar half-slurred voice put Papyrus in yet another panic. He tried his best to keep cool, he was The Great Papyrus after all, the definition of cool!

"Just a mid day run, brother!" He said quickly, wincing slightly at the throbbing pain in his shoulder as he stood.

"and you slammed the door.. why?"

Sans had obviously been awoken from a nap, perhaps a tad drunk from his escapade to Grillbys. As much as he wanted to judge, he did take care of him after the fall, his brother earned one pass.

"I.. tripped! Terribly sorry brother, you can go back to your nap!"

While obviously questioning his reasons, the thought of a nap was enough to put Sans back to sleep. Just as Papyrus knew it would, thank Asgore.

And so, after a battle with the stairs, Papyrus sat as the small desk in his room, throwing another failed attempt at a song into the trash.

His shoulder screamed at him with every word he wrote, but he'd so far had nothing new down.

'Stupid Papyrus,'  he grumbled as he rested his head on the table.

'Stupid..' he interrupted himself as he yawned, the thoughts of his day going through his mind. He'd barely done anything compared to his usual routine, though he did get to talk to Flowey. That was always a plus, a treat to keep him motivated.

'Nyeh heh, stupid for you,' he grumbled absentmindedly.

Until,

"Stupid for you" he repeated, his sockets widening as his thoughts began to run wild.

"That- That works!" He cheered to himself, fighting his shoulder to sit up properly so he could write his new inspiration. Who needed nature, all he'd needed was a muse to get started.

(Another chapter for the books! These chapters are the first to be re-written into something more readable, so I've been able to add a little length to them! Not to say this is close to a long chapter, I still hope you enjoyed a shorter one.
Happy reading folks!)
