It could have been the lack of sleep, or maybe the pain medicine, but Papyrus had never felt more proud of his work. He'd finally completed his song, after countless drafts and practice, he'd finally done it. His checklist of things had also changed significantly, with only two things left to do.

□Disguise
□Audition

The disguise wasn't mandatory, but Papyrus knew he couldn't say what he wanted to as himself. So he searched the depths of his (and Sans') closets untill he found something to work in the meantime.

A black cloak hed found washed up by the river one time, some black boots too big for Undyne, and a mask Sans used to scare him one time.

With the second to last thing checked, all he had to do was show up.

He entered the large building quietly, receiving a few puzzled stares on the way to the desk where a small lizard woman sat. "Excuse me, I'm here for the audition." He kept his voice low, and almost quiet as he spoke. Just in case one of his many fans recognized him, of course. She seemed to snap out of her thoughts when he spoke, staring at him for a moment before responding. "D-do you have a reservation?" She didn't take her eyes off of him, perhaps out of fear, or maybe curiosity. "I do, yes, it's in about half an hour?" She entered a few things into the bulky computer in front of her before turning back to him. "Cool dude?" Papyrus realized he'd forgotten to change his username, but he had many other things to worry about at that moment. "Yes, that is me" he fiddled with the inside of his cloak. "We-well you've got some time, so I suggest getting ready i-in one of the stage rooms, down that hall" She spun in her chair to point to a large double door. "Goodlu-luck!" She smiled, and though he tried to smile back, the mask made it so he stared for a moment before walking off.

Once he walked on stage was when he realized the cloak was a tad uncomfortable, obviously not made for a tall skeleton, but his thoughts were suddenly directed to the bright lights hitting his eye sockets as the curtains raised. The crowd stared at the tall stranger, murmuring at the mystery monster. Papyrus couldn't see well through the light, part of him knew that was a good thing, as he couldn't see his star staring at his every move.

(Now is the time to play the song! It's called Stupid For You by the Waterparks! You dont have to, but it will make this part make a lot more sense)

The speakers started, signaling that it was time for him to actually sing. "Hey, tell me what you want me to say" he started softly, trying to hide his nerve (and voice) as best he could. "You know I'm stupid for you!" he got louder, focusing on the lyrics "hey, can you come-a come-a come out and play, you know I'm stupid for you!" His mind wandered to his muse, a flash of gold in the snow. "I'm colour coding my moods, you're yellow I'm natural blue, let's get together and be green like my insides" he was glad he was wearing a mask as his cheeks warmed with colour. Flowey probably wouldn't hear him, as there were no tvs in the forest, but a piece of him feared he hadn't disguised his lyrics enough. "Let's match our faces and be equally in love" he really hoped flowey couldn't see this.

"Hey, tell me what you want me to say
You know I'm stupid for you
Hey, can you come and come out and play
You know I'm stupid for you"

The crowd quieted as they listened, mettaton leaning on the bedazzled table in front of him, his face both of intrigue and curiosity. Or at least, that's what Papyrus hoped.

"Let's trash our whole afternoon
Reciting recycled news
" Papyrus recalled the time they went searching through the dump for human newspapers and magazines, things Papyrus could research for his guard training.

"I'll be your new favourite tune
I'll be your black cloud by june
But only when you miss the rain like I miss you"

The background music suddenly was quieter, just as Papyrus wrote it to be.

"Just double dare me
And I promise now that I'll stay
It's not like you're married but I still got carried away"

And again the chorus went on, by now Papyrus was louder, confident in himself as even some of the crowd joined

"Hey, tell me what you want me to say
You know I'm stupid for you
Hey, can you come and come out and play
You know I'm stupid for you"

Without realizing it he was moving, grabbing the microphone and swaying to the music

"You're playin' ring round my head
I'll wear you like a halo
You're a symphony, I'm just a sour note"

The crowd was in awe of the performance, though not flashy and huge like mettatons, it was something completely different from everyone else's. Some could have sworn they saw lights emitting from the singer.

"..You're playin' ring round my head
I'll wear you like a halo
You're a symphony, I'm just a sour note
I'll take what I can get
The best is hard to grip when everybody wants you"

The music built to this final moment. Papyrus sang like he hadn't before, his soul seeping into every line as lights showered the audience

"Hey, tell me that you want me to stay
You know I'm stupid for you
Hey, can you come and come out and play
You know I'm stupid for you
You're playin' ring round my head
I'll wear you like a halo
You're a symphony, I'm just a sour note
I'll take what I can get
The best is hard to grip when everybody wants you
And everybody wants you"

The crowd was going wild now as they joined in, his bright energy contagious as the lights danced around them.

"And everybody wants you!
And everybody wants you-"
His voice changed for a split moment, though nobody noticed enough to care
"And everybody wants you
And everybody wants you"

Then the curtains lowered as he panted, the shimmering lights dimming as his thoughts gathered and the stage crew showed him the directions.
