Back In Her Arms

I sit there and just cry for a while. I'm so lost in my thoughts I don't hear the faint clicking of someone's cane coming nearer to me from the direction of the Never castle. 

I look up as I hear someone stop right next to me. Of course it just has to be Lesso. I start to laugh at the hilarity of this situation, seeing as tears are still running down my face at my thoughts of her. 

Lesso looks at me with a concerned look she saved only for me, which I hadn't seen in fifteen years. She crouches down next to me and gently rubs my arm asking: "My dear whatever's the matter?"

I look at her and a new batch of sobs rake over me. She sits on the ledge with me and pulls me close to her shushing me as she lightly rocks me in her arms. "Why don't you come with me darling" she says as she helps me stand up. I oblige and watch as she picks up my book tucking it under her arm as she puts her arm around my shoulders guiding me to the Never castle. 

We walk through the gates and into the uncharacteristically quiet castle. I realize we are going to her dorm, not her office, as I am still somewhat familiar with this route. She guides me down the hall with her arms still around me. 

We reach her dorm and she guides me to the sofa in her living space. I sit down and bury my head in my hands. "Leonora I'm sorry" I say, still hiding my face. 

She sits down next to me and puts her arm around me again pulling me close to her. "Sorry for what love?" She asks in a soft voice.

I look up at her tears threatening my eyes again "I'm just...I'm sorry for breaking your heart, I'm sorry for breaking mine. I'm sorry for leaving you. I'm sorry for taking up your time right now. I'm sorry for crying on you." I blurt out all at once.

She looks at me with sad eyes and pulls me into a hug. "Darling, I forgive you for all of it. You have no reason to be sorry. I understand" she softly whispers into my hair as she kisses my head. 

I look up at her and give her a small smile as I said, "you know, I never stopped loving you. Deep down, I always knew."

She lets out a small laugh as she pulls me back to her, kissing my temple. "I know darling, I never stopped loving you either. I had always hoped you would come back to me someday."

I smile at her as I say "Well I'm back now, and I have no intention of leaving. Not again."

She laughs at me and pulls me in for a sweet kiss. "Mmm salty" she says as she pulls away. We both laugh as I wipe the remaining tears off my face. She stands up, and pulls me up with her. "Come on dear, lets go clean you up." She leads me to her bathroom.

I stand in front of her sink and look at myself in the mirror, laughing at the mess looking back. "Oh God I look like a mess" I whisper.

Lesso comes up behind me and wraps her arms around me, kissing my cheek "hmmm yes you do look like a mess, a hot mess" she tells me with a mischievous voice. I laugh at her as I turn around and give her a soft peck on the lips. She places a folded robe in front of me as well as a simple facial cleanser to wash my face. She kisses my cheek and then walks out giving me some privacy. 

I take a deep breath as I look back into the mirror. I tie my hair back with the small ribbon tied around my wrist, and then take off my suit, which is stained with a mix of my tears and makeup. I put the robe on and then quickly wash my face. I send my clothes to my room, using magic, as I do one last look over in the mirror. I sigh and walk out of the bathroom as I tighten my robe. 

I see Lesso sitting back on the sofa, reading my book, also wearing a robe. She looks up and smiles at me as I approach her. She pulls me down next to her, gives me a light kiss and then pulls me to her as she lays back on the sofa. She takes out the ribbon in my hair and starts to run her hands through it. I sigh in content and snuggle deeper into her chest.  We sit there for a while simply enjoying each others presence. 

After a quarter of an hour lying there, I kiss her collar bone, sit up, and say, "You know, I missed this. I missed you. Just being with you again makes me feel so at home and happy."

She looks at me with a slight smile on her face as she grabs my hand and pulls me closer saying, "I missed you too darling. More than you can know. "

I cuddle back into her and she wraps her arms around me, but I sit up again to ask, "Do you think we can go back to what we once were?"

She grins at me and pulls my face to her for a kiss. As we break apart she says, still millimeters away from my lips, "I thought you would never ask my dear" and kisses me again.

We sink back into the sofa still kissing each other. We stay like this for a few minutes until Lesso asks "do you want to take this to the bedroom?"

I look at her and think, getting serious for a moment. I finally answer, after she kisses me again, saying, "I would love to move this to the bedroom, but I don't want anything to happen. Not yet. I'm not ready. It's too soon." 

She smiles at me and gives me a sweet kiss answering, "Of course love. I would never want to do anything before you're ready. Stay with me tonight? We can fall asleep in each others arms like we used to." 

I let out a grin, remembering our past, nodding in agreement. I let out a small squeal as she picks me up bridal style and walks me to her room, which hasn't changed in the slightest since I was there last. She lays me gently in the bed giving me a sweet kiss as she gets in bed next to me pulling me closer to her. 

I look up at her smiling and say in a soft voice, "It feels so nice to be back in your arms."

She smiles down at me and kisses me again saying, "I know my darling. I feel it too." She pulls me to her chest and whispers into my hair, a slight shake to her voice, "I never want to let you go again Ash."

I smile and move closer to her answering in a whisper, "Me too Nora. Me too."

We fall asleep like that, wrapped in each others arms, both of us sleeping better than we had in weeks.
