World:
When worlds' collide or WWC, takes place in a fantasy world that I have created in my little, imaginative mind. It does not have any correlation to the world we are currently living in (God help us) or any other brilliant world that another mind has brought to life. This is my world, my ideas and my characters alone.
The land you will be reading about is a small kingdom, roughly the size of Scotland or Ireland, that is ruled by lycans. This kingdom borders or is next to, four other kingdoms of differing sizes. None of these kingdoms come into play much during the story, but they will be mentioned from time to time. They are:
Bonness-A kingdom also run primarily by Lycans. Bonness is a neighboring kingdom, larger than Inhatia, whose king and royal family have a treaty with Callan's great grandfather. Callan still wishes to uphold this treaty to this day, citing Bonness' trading opportunities.
Jamin- A very small kingdom run by witches. It is a small island just off the coast of Inhatia and humans are prohibited to live there. It is a closed off community and the witches rarely venture off the island unless they are summoned.
Lavartia-This icy, northern landscape is home to vampires and their humans. Humans who live here have a contract that states they must be willing to give up their blood at any time, but cannot be killed. Humans are rather rare in this freezing landscape.
Olwinet- A strange kingdom, home to those who have nowhere else to go.. Here is where the exiles, the unwanted, the strays and the unfortunates live. A mix of weak lycans, humans and witches without magic. Olwinet is an island owned by Inhatia, and if you are sent there...there is no coming back.
There are many places of interest within Inhatia. Places of beauty, wonder and awe. We have:
The Golden Mountains- Rumored to be where the Goddess and her children were born. A sacred place, home to religious monks who devout their time to their Goddess.
Lake Luna- A large lake with supposed magical properties, although this has never been confirmed. Beautiful in both summer and winter, with swimming and ice skating opportunities taken on by humans every year!
The never-ending forest- As in the name, this forest spans miles across the kingdom, home to hundreds of animals, more flora and fauna the eye could see and the dense trees make it very hard to keep track of where you are. Once you're inside, it can be very hard to get out.
The Lycan City- Home to the royals and the most prestigious lycans in Inhartia. This is where the rich live in luxury with everything they could ever need. Humans rarely see inside the city walls, unless they are taken as a partner by a lycan.
The ancient ruins- Said to be of time when humans were at the top of the food chain, these are the only ruins left of a time long, long ago. Researchers are still learning new things about Inhatia's history from these ruins.
There are many more wonderful places in Inhatia, but those are the ones worth mentioning as they play a part in our story! Now onto a couple (not all) of characters you will meet in our story!
Josephina Willow- Our heroine. A slight, dainty girl of nineteen who dreams of life outside her small village. On the outside, Josephina is shy, submissive and sweet, yet inside burns a fire that is yet to be seen. Josephina is often simply called Phina by her family and friends.
Callan Griffin- Our Hero. A Lycan King, at twenty five he has been the rightful king of Inhatia since he turned twenty. Callan is powerful, strong and rules his kingdom with a fair, yet iron fist. He believes he will settle down soon with an affluent, lycan woman.
Lex Tanix- Callan's Beta. His right hand man and best friend. Named after a great ancestral warrior, Lex is unbeaten in a fight. He listens to his Alpha with the utmost respect and believes it is a honour to serve and live beside his King.
BriettaMarin- Josephina's closest friend and the only one who knows the truth about her fear of the lycans, and the reason why. A tall and sprightly girl with an outspoken, daring personality, people often wonder why she and Josephina are so close. Brietta is sometimes shortened to Bri, but only Josephina can call her that.
