I do not possess any of these individuals!
This entire situation feels like a misuse of education, filled solely with unnecessary drama, you thought to yourself. As you entered your room, which you did share, you noted that your roommate was rarely ever present. I settled onto my bed, surveying the surroundings.
Just then, a knock on the door interrupted my thoughts as a tall woman entered, accompanied by another girl and yet another one. I found myself staring at them in silence. "What?" I mumbled, blinking rapidly as the tall woman spoke, "This one here is your new roommate; the previous one requested a transfer." Her gaze locked onto yours, and I replied, "Right... okay," diverting my eyes from the girl. "And this is her friend. She'll assist her with unpacking, if that's acceptable." The tall woman added with a smile. "Yeah, that's fine," I managed to respond. She smiled again and exited, leaving the two girls to approach the area where the new roommate would be sleeping.
"I'm Wednesday," she introduced herself, maintaining a steady gaze on me. "I'm y/n," I replied, and she nodded in acknowledgment. "I'm Enid!" the other girl chimed in enthusiastically. "Okay..." I murmured back, noticing the energetic vibe she exuded.
The following day, while everyone else was engaged in activities, I chose to remain in the library. The principal had asked me to attend their event, but I had declined, which clearly displeased her. Feeling guilty for lying, I busied myself searching through books. Suddenly, I heard the library door creak open. Looking up, I saw no one at the entrance—just the door swinging. Shaking off the unease, I refocused on my book. "Very rude of you to lie," I heard a voice say from behind me. Turning around, I came face-to-face with the tall woman again, dressed in a white skirt and shirt, her short white hair framing her face.
"Um..." I stammered, floundering for an excuse, but my words fell flat. "It's okay, y/n, just don't lie to me. Why didn't you want to attend?" she inquired. "I don't know, I simply dislike events," I replied, and she knelt down, prompting me once more, "Then just say that." Raising an eyebrow in confusion, I reiterated, "Because, why would I expend my time on something I don't enjoy?" She flashed a smile, "Wonderful." We maintained eye contact; her eyes were mesmerizing, and I felt a warmth spread through my legs. This sensation was foreign to me.
I noticed her gaze flicker from my lips back to my eyes as she stood up. "Well! I'll see you later; I have things to attend to. Have a wonderful day, darling. Bye." I nodded, turning back to my books, pondering over the odd encounter. I don't identify as bisexual or gay; I haven't dated anyone or had crushes before. Yet, something about her made me feel... different. Shaking off my thoughts, I focused on my reading again—it truly was a strange moment.
Four hours later in the library
I had dozed off amidst my reading, too exhausted to shift positions, with a stack of books beside me and one resting open on my lap.
From Larissa's perspective
As I entered the school, I observed students enjoying their free time, yet I felt a distinct absence and guessed correctly that y/n was missing again. Making my way to the library, aware it was her likely refuge, I stepped into the dimly-lit space and noticed her figure—her hand resting on a book. The only illumination came from a small lamp on the desk. I walked closer and marveled at her beauty, but then reminded myself I couldn't pursue anything with a student. Moreover, she was forced into this school by her parents.
"Um, y/n," I gently tapped her shoulder. She groaned and rolled over, and despite my attempts to wake her, she remained unresponsive. Given the coldness of the library, I resolved to lift her and carry her to my office, where I laid her down on the couch in front of the fireplace before taking my seat at my desk and clicking away on my typewriter.
An hour later, with lights out and everyone settled in their dorms, I heard a soft yawn and noticed y/n waking up. "Um..." she mumbled, glancing around before her eyes settled on me. "What happened?" she asked. "You fell asleep... in the library," I informed her. "Oh," she replied, rising to a seated position. "You can stay here for a bit if you'd like," I offered. She nodded, curling up in a cozy corner with a blanket pulled over her as she gazed at the flickering fire. "Who was the first outcast?" she suddenly asked.
"Um, I'm not really sure. Sorry," I replied, and she nodded thoughtfully. "Are you an outcast?" she inquired, meeting my gaze. "Yes, I am," I confirmed. "What about you?" I inquired back. "I'm a shapeshifter," I stated, noticing her eyes brightening with interest. "That's really cool..." she exclaimed, and I smiled back at her. As the clock ticked on, the room darkened further. "Well... we should probably get some sleep," I suggested cautiously. "I... I'm not fond of sleeping in my dorm. The girl always has her typing going on," she admitted. "You can stay in my room... I'll take the couch!" I offered. She smiled but shook her head. "Don't get weirded out, but we can just share..." she said, averting her gaze.
I hesitated; sharing a bed with a student felt risky. Yet, denying her request felt unjust. "Alright! We can share," I relented, and her smile widened. We made our way to my room, exchanging conversation as I locked the door behind us. She wasn't dressed in sleepwear, so I suggested, "Um... you can borrow one of my button-up shirts since you're already wearing shorts." She nodded in agreement, and I handed her a shirt. As she began to remove her shirt, my eyes widened, prompting me to turn away. "Sorry," she whispered shyly. "It's fine..." I murmured, and we climbed into bed, switching off the lights.
Returning to your viewpoint in first person
I woke up around 5 a.m., feeling two arms encircling my waist, and realized I had curled up against someone—specifically, the principal. She looked serene in her sleep. I turned away, a shiver coursing through me as her arms shifted, causing me to feel the bed move. "Y/n? Are you awake?" I heard her sleepy voice asking. "Uh, yeah..." I replied. "Very well. I'll get changed, and you can grab your shirt if you'd like," she stated, turning to face me. "Or you can keep that one; it doesn't matter," she added. "Uh... I'll keep it, and thank you for letting me stay," I said, to which she responded, "Anytime, darling," with a smile. I then got up and left the room.
Did I really just sleep next to my principal and awaken to find her arms wrapped around me?
