Ruǹe's Pov
The salty fresh steamed air hit across my face in a sudden rough motion, a vivid smile took over my face for a moment letting a deep exhale leave from me, fluttering my eyes open for a moment. The rocking of the ship's against the ocean waves it brought back memories so long ago with my mother and family. Such a strange family I had.. So many brothers and uncles.

I wanted to be a fierce warrior but nothing made me wanna be more proud than to be like my mother strong in many ways, to never let a man shift me in the ways my slightly idiotic father did. They were getting much older now which meant the trails of their past were long forged in their history.

"I think I'm gonna be sick.. Curse your mother." A soft chuckle left from lips, steady using my balance I walked towards were father was sitting on the floor deck of the ship making sure his black cloak stayed tugged over his head. The more the water washed over the sides. The more pale and blue his eyes grew in shape.

With a sound like grunt I carefully sat across from him, watching him lift his legs a bit to give me space with a grunt.

"Why curse her when your hands wouldn't let her go as you left her father? Nothing a little water can do." I tease, the little smirk he sent me was enough for him to chuckle sinking his shoulders down a bit, leaning his head back while speaking more towards me.

"Many years ago, when my own father was still alive my mother I had a different mother from your uncle Bjorn. She was a witch she could see things, she said she saw me die and I had almost drowned at sea. Imagine it back then my legs didn't have the braces to help I was lucky I was washed up on the shore." My eyes grew wide in surprise. I wasn't expecting that, it made my mind race what other things have my parents been through.

"I- wow and yet here we are on a ship traveling the world." He shook with laughter, shifting his arms gazing his blue eyes to look out towards the almost dark sky.

"I already miss your mother... She's been worrying me greatly, I even miss the boys pulling at my damn hair in my sleep, you all are growing before my eyes. I am getting old." A single snort had left my lips, resting my arms over my knees propping my leg up for a moment.

"I miss her voice already as well... She's very wise tell me.. Your'e my father Ivar the Boneless when you met mother how did you like just know she was the one?" You could see for a moment he grew choked up. I wasn't sure it was the chilly air that had his face a soft red shade. He gulped before he looked to the side.

"Before any of you were born... I had a wife she still could be at Kattegat for all I know Eerika. I will vaguely admit now I didn't treat her as right as I should have. It wasn't her fault she couldn't have children I was still in my young twenties and just took my rage out on her." My eyes soften listening intently to him, he seemed emotional as he talked about the past, shifting his eyes to look back up towards the sky.

"Your mother had walked into Kattegat during our usual parties just a night of drinking we had lords, and ladies, princess and all from everywhere. She wasn't from here I could see that from a mile away. She looked out of place like the ale and music was just making her sick. I knew the English tongue so out of curiosity I had your uncle Hvitserk bring her to me." The way his eyes shifted showed that this story meant a lot to him.

"She was on our land.. And in honestly she could have declined I could have killed her and your grandfather if I wanted to, I was greedy I just wanted a second wife I wanted children and your grandfather accepted gave Ayana away just like that she was mine." He snapped his fingers quickly, chuckling moving to run his hand through his hair.

"She was a stubborn one. She never ran away, she always was taking walls with me, I took her virginity on our wedding night and that's how we had you." A noise of disgust left me quickly, lifting my hands to cover my ears making a loud blah noise quickly.

"La! I don't wanna hear this!" He shook with laughter pointing his finger at me. With a shake to his head firmly.

"You are far too old to be that childish you'll be losing yours soon enough. Your mother always took things that were thrown at her, the nonsense from my brothers. The divorce I had. When she shocked me with your brothers she always took care of you guys and as well our kingdom. In many many ways I don't deserve her.. But I want to go into Valhalla with her.. In death I want her with me." My own eyes narrowed with a softness finding my hands messing with my hair.

As tricky as time as it sounded. They had such a love for one another, I truly hoped one day I would find a love like that, something that great to even fight for.

"How romantic you are father." I giggled dodging when he threw a little piece of bread at me quickly with a grin, I threw one back at him watching it bounce of his head with ease. I watched the way he scooted closer towards me, he grabbed at my head with one hand a kind smile taking over him.

"One of my greatest creations has been you and your brothers always remember that."

"Can you not make me cry out in the middle of the ocean father."
