"What the hell are you doing here?!" Lucy's uncle, and Robbie's dad, yelled at the young Lucy when he saw her from the couch.

"You never told him?" Lucy asked and turned to Robbie.

"And what happened to your face?" Nick snapped in shock and confusion.

"Well, I never got the chance. Had to turbo speed down to the diner" Robbie shrugged, ignoring his dad's question.

"You fucking idiot" she scolded and shook her head in disbelief at her cousin's stupidity. "I need somewhere to stay, uncle nick, please" she said in an innocent, pleading voice.

He thought for a second as he looked at the young girl and was reminded of her younger self. her cheeky grin, her soft curls on the ends of her hair, it was all brought back to him and he told himself he couldn't just kick her out.

"Right, one night. now get out of my sight" he said, sitting back on the couch and focusing back on his snacks and show.

Her uncle Nick was always the more lenient one compared to his wife, and that was what Lucy feared, her aunt.

Lucy went up the stairs with Robbie. She hadn't been there for six months, it all felt surreal to her, being back in the house she spent a big part of her life in, the good and bad times came back to her as she inhaled the familiar scent. She walked up the stairs slowly, taking an interest in the photos on the wall. She noticed the photos had been changed, swapped with many that didn't feature her.

The young girl felt a little saddened, like she was a forgotten soul in her family, but she did notice one photo of her and Robbie as young kids. 'Benidorm, '98' was written under the photograph. Lucy smiled as she saw her sweet smile, her two front tooth missing, her hair a mess and dripping wet from the pool. Little did that sweet girl know her smile would fade for a very long time.

Robbie set out a blanket on the floor with a few pillows as Lucy washed herself in the bathroom.

The low-pressure water soaked her as she rinsed away the stained blood on her skin while her lightly curled strands of hair floated down the drain. she expected that after having her hair gripped so tightly.

When her body was fully bare, she realised how much pain she encountered. her legs were bruised black and blue, her cheeks and forehead were the same colour with a few specs of dark red on her left side and the same went for her arms whilst her upper lip had a split downwards.
