Ajax Petropolus x Reader | You Missed

You and Enid were best friends before you both started at Nevermore. When you both did start it was always nice know that you two had someone you could rely on.
When Wednesday joined the two of you in your room it became a bit awkward.
Countless nights were spent on Enids bed with Enid gushing about Wednesday in hushed whispers.

"I've tried being so nice to her and she still won't hug me" Enid complained throwing herself backwards and her head landing in your lap, stareing up at you "what do I need to do?"

You snickered quietly, moving your fingers through her hair "first you gotta respect her boundaries wolfy" you said flicking her nose "second, just let her know you there for her and make sure you uphold yourself to that. If it doesn't work, and as the last resort try ignoring her, I guarantee she'll relaize how much she likes your presence."

Enid grinned and sat up with new found energy "your right! I can do that!" She cheered happily.
After her small victory dance she turned to you "so, y/n, do you got your eye on anyone?" She asked bouncing up to her knees.

You rolled your eyes at the question, yet the soft blush on your cheeks already gave your answer away.
Enid gasped and leaned closer to you "y/n! You have to tell me now!" She demanded shaking your shoulder.

You slapped her hand away gently and sighed "fine fine" you said admitting defeat "you know Ajax? The gorgon? I...might like him."

Enid began bouncing on her knees "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! You have to tell him!" She demanded.

"No, no I don't, I want to make sure he likes me back first"

"Fine...we'll do it tomorrow!"

You rolled your eyes again but didn't even try arguing "alright, good night wolfy" you said swinging your legs off of your friends bed and walking over to yours.

"Good night y/n!"

~ Time skip ~

You and Endid were walking to the Quad. Today was an off day for Nevermore and Enid decided that it was the perfect time to try and get Ajax to confess.
"C'mon! He's got to be around her somewhere" Enid complained looking around.

As if on cue Ajax walked up to her a nervous smile on his face "Hey Enid, mind if I ask you something?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck.

Enid nodded and smiled "sure! What's up?" She asked.

Unbeknownst to him, you were perfectly hidden behind Enid, being able to hear the entire conversation.

"I wanna ask you about y/n. They aren't dating anyone are they?" He asked, and continue when Enid shook her head "good, cause I was hoping you could give me some advice. I've been wanting to ask them out, I just don't know how too."

Your eyes went wide at the conffesion, but a smile spread across your face.

Enid was grinning from ear to ear "Well I'm pretty sure you just did" she said.

When Ajax frowned and tilted his head in confusion before Enid side stepped revealing you.

Both yours and Ajax's cheeks were red and you both just stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do.
Enid snickered and waved good bye before quickly leaving the two of you alone.

"Sooo what was that you wanted to ask me?" You asker looking at him, a small smile on your face as you took a step closer to him.

Ajax grinned a bit taking a deep breath to calm his nerves "would you want to go on a date with me?" He asked, his eyes avoiding yours.
You pretended to think for a second, as if you hadn't already come to your answer long before.

"Hmmm, I guess" you teased smirking.

He grinned "alright! I'll pick you up at 5!" He said before hesitantly leaning in and pecking your cheek. He gave you one last soft awkward smile before running off.
You stood there spellbound before a giant grin spread across your face.

For the rest of the day you were on cloud nine, a giant smile on your face as you walked around the school to pass the time.

As it neared Five you headed back to your room and searched through your clothes.
Enid was sitting on her bed watching your throw article after article of clothing from your closest onto the floor.

"Y/n your stressing for nothing, he's going to love you in anything" She said tring to reassure you.

You were about to reply when a knocking came from your door, cuaisng your anxiety to rise.
"Enid please get that, please" you begged, turning back to your closest.
Enid rolled her eyes but nonetheless walked towards the door and opened it.

Ajax hoping that you would open the door tilted his head in confusion when Enid opened the door "uh- is y/n here?" He asked after clearing his throat awkwardly.
Enid nodded "yeah, but they are stressing themselves out over what to where. They don't want to disappoint you" she said "you better make sure you reassure them, or I will wolf out on you."

She smiled innocently before slipping past Ajax, leaving him to gulp nervously and step into your room closing the door behind him.
"Y/n?" He questioned, walking over to you.

You jumped and turned around, you didn't think Enid would have left you, but here you were, alone, with Ajax, and freaking out.
"Ajax! Sorry- I didn't mean to make you wait, I just don't know what to wear" you sputtered out embarrassed.
He just grinned and pulled something out behind his back, it was a hoodie, his hoodie "Well it is cold outside and I didn't know if you had anything warm enough, so I brought you this" he said "you don't have to wear it though if you don't want to."

He barely was able to finish as you quickly took the hoodie from him and slipped it on, "no, I like it! Thank you" you said smiling.
He smiled, a blush settling on his cheeks at the sight of you in his hoodie "yeah, of course!" He said nervously chuckling "c'mon let's go."

He nodded his head towards the door, holding out his hand for you too take.
Without hesitation you took his hand, and he took the chance to interlock your fingers.
From there he dragged you out of your room and began leading you to whatever place he planned.

About 5 minutes later Ajax was helping you onto the roof of the school, leading you near the ledge where a blanket was spread out.
There was candles and different kinds of candy spread across it eith rose petals scattered across the scene.

Ajax's face was flushed "I uh- wanted to impress you so I asked Xavier for help. Turns out he doesn't really know either so we ended up looking up ideas" he said awkwardly.
You laughed and took his hand dragging him to the blanket "I love it, don't worry" you said sitting down.
At your reassurance Ajax grinned and sat down next to you, his hand moving to hold yours again.

You noticed there was chocolate strawberries and immediately reached for them. Ajax laughed at your reaction before grabbing one himself "I remember you mentioning you really liked chocolate dipped strawberries- do you like them?" He asked.
Your eyes were bright with happiness as you took a bite of the candy, nodding your head frantically.

Ajax's heart filled with pride, he liked knowing that he could make you happy and that you were enjoying yourself.
When you were finished he noticed a peice of chocolate was on the corner of your mouth.
"Uhm, you have a little chocolate...here" he said pointing on himself where it was.
You blushed a bit and quickly went wipe it off but Ajax grabbed your wrist. He had leaned over, one hand holding himself up and one still holding your wrist.
He gave you a small smile before leaning in a bit more and kissing the chocolate away.

Ajax leaned away licking his lips "got it" he said, his face turning a deeper shade of red.
You hummed for a second before responding "you missed"

"What?"

"You missed."

Ajax didn't have enough time to register what you said before you had grabbed his tie and pulled him into a kiss.
He immediately kissed back, hands coming to rest themselves on eaither side of you to keep himself upright.
When you pulled away he let out a noise of disappointment and tried following you forwards but you stopped him.
He tilted his head and kissed your cheek a cheeky smile on his face.
