Episode 3//Chaos Theory Part 3

I rubbed my eyes as I started to wake up. I felt this pressure on my side and didn't notice what it was until I opened them. It was Max. She was holding me as if I was about to run away. Max started to wake up too and saw that she was holding me in her sleep.

"How did you manage to get off the bed and sleep next to me without waking me up?" I said with a smile.
"I'm..... magic?" She said and started to laugh.

Chloe woke up and saw how we were sleeping.
"You guys are so cute together." She said with a smile.
"Har har." I said back but couldn't resist the urge to smile.
"Alright, we should head back to Blackwell." Max said as she got up and the rest of us did the same.
"Great. Our clothes still smell like chlorine." I said.
"You still have some clothes in my closet. You can grab something too, Max." Chloe said.

I slid the closet door open and grabbed some old clothes of mine. (it can be whatever you want)

"Hey, there you go! Rachel gave me some clothes she didn't want a while back." Chloe said. It didn't surprise me, we both became really close with Rachel. After she said that she left the room to go to the bathroom.
"She's about your size, Max." I said as I showed her the red plaid shirt and black jeans.
"But she's not my style." Max said.
"You don't have a style yet. You could always wait till your dinosaur shirt and jeans dry up." I chuckled.
"You suck. I like my shirt and jeans, but it would be cool to try on Rachel's clothes, just to see if they fit." Max said with a small excited smile.
"Oh come onnn, stop second guessing yourself. Put this on and let your inner punk-rock girl come out! You can afford to take chances! You can try whatever you want whenever you want." I said as her smile grew more. Fuck it, this is a good time to try to make a move.
"I can take those chances with you too. Like this, for example." I said and leaned in swiftly till our lips were centimeters away from each other.
"Whenever and whatever I want?" Max said softly and I could feel her breath as she spoke.
"Whatever you want." I said back with the same softness. I smiled and she smiled back. We didn't say anything else as our lips touched and began to dance with each other. This warmth that I always felt around her, it's so comforting. She's the reason I'm braver than ever before. The reason I want to find out how to stop that storm. She's the reason for my happiness. 

After a few seconds we heard the door open and immediately stopped kissing. Chloe walked in and Max got changed as we acted like it didn't happen.

"You guys are changed, great. Go downstairs and say hi to Joyce. Free breakfast! I have to wake n bake first. You want some, Ethan?" Chloe said as Max and I had changed into our non-chlorine soaked clothes.
"I'm good. I need food in my system or I am going to shut down. We promise not to tell." I said as Max and I walked out of Chloe's room and went downstairs.

Joyce was cleaning in the kitchen so we walked up to her.

"Morning Joyce!" We said at the same time.
"Rachel! Uh.. I-I mean, Max... Whew, you startled me. You fit those clothes so well. And Ethan! I haven't seen those clothes in ages. Now tell me exactly what you guys want to chow on." Joyce said with a big smile.
"Eggs and bacon, all the way." Max said and I smiled.
"Remember when you guys would sleep in until I yelled out, 'Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!'" Joyce said.
"Totally. We'd be up so fast." Max said.
"So this time you guys can help me with the ingredients. I need you to grab me the actual eggs and the bacon." Joyce said.
"I got it." I said and grabbed both ingredients for Joyce.

We helped Joyce make the food, put them on plates and on the table next to the kitchen. Max and I ate as Chloe walked up and started arguing with her mom so Max could get into the garage and snoop into David's files. I tried to distract Joyce as well but without arguing. After a few minutes, Max came out of the garage.

"What'd you find?" I whispered to Max as she approached Chloe and I. She was about to tell us but we heard the front door slam and saw David walking towards us.

"Nice breakfast." David said.
"David, you're back already?" Joyce said.
"I have to take a nap after writing up vandalism reports last night." David said.
"What happened?" Joyce said as she crossed her arms.
"Some little shitass punks broke in to the swimming pool. This is what happens at these P.C. bullshit schools. Entitled students taking over the campus!" David said in anger, obviously talking about us.
"Do you know for sure it was Blackwell students?" Joyce said as she got closer to David.
"Who else would do it? And I'm going to bust them." David said as he walked up to Max and I.
"Figures you two would be here. Is that your Rachel Amber Halloween costume?" David said which angered me.
"You clearly know more about her than us." I said.
"No, all three of you think you know more than anybody. Like all teenagers." David said.
"Leave Ethan and Max alone, David. Stop threatening students." Joyce said.
"He threatens them with surveillance cameras. So he can spy on everybody... Like he spies on all of us here." Chloe said as we all surrounded David.
"Don't start, Chloe. Not now." David said.
"Yeah, I'm just starting shit, right? You're such a total paranoid, David." Chloe said.
"Not. Now. Chloe." David said as he raised his hand close to her face, so I stepped in front of her.
"You know, you used to call us losers for getting kicked out of Blackwell... so who's the loser now, David? Who haven't you accused or harassed? Between your investigations into Rachel and Kate, what have you done but get in trouble?" I said as I walked closer to David and he started walking back.
"You're a bully, David. I saw you harass Kate Marsh when she was going through hell. You could of totally helped her." Max said. I've never heard her this angry before.
"Everybody at Blackwell is a suspect to you, except for Nathan Prescott... That's why the students and faculty don't like you. You even threatened me." I said.
"Uh.. you smoked pot in Chloe's room! That's illegal." David said to me.
"So is spying on people in your family and at your work. Why do you have photos of Kate Marsh and Rachel Amber in your files anyway?" Max said.
"What? Is this true, Max? Yes, David, why do you have these files at all? I find this very disturbing." Joyce said as she sounded shocked and angry.
"I do not have to take this kind of interrogation. Not from you punks!" David shouted.
"Maybe you should calm down." Joyce shouted back.
"Oh, you're turning on me now? Well, screw you!" David said.
"David... you better go to a hotel until we figure this out..." Joyce said.
"You can't kick me out of my own home!" David said.
"It's my home, David. Paid for and in my name. You know the law, right?" Joyce said.
"I thought I  knew a lot of things... like when I'm out flanked." David said as he walked away and out of the house.

"Holy shit.." I said under my breath.

"Ready to hit the road?" Chloe said.

"Yeah.." Max and I said in unison as we all walked out of the house. Max held my hand which made me feel a little better. We got into my car and drove off.
