It was now lunch time and Vance went to his regular lunch spot, the bathroom. It wasn't in the best condition but it was good enough for smoking in and getting some quiet time.

Vance pulled out an almost empty pack of cigarettes and lit one of the last ones up. He inhaled the grey smoke deep into his lungs before exhaling slowly. Whenever Vance is in a stressed mood smoking always calmed his nerves, allowing him to enter a space he could never be in at home. After a few more puffs of the burning cigarette he tapped it out on the wall and sat down below the dirt stained window. Vance had nothing else to do but sit in silence. He didn't have any friends because of his bad reputation for fighting 'helpless' kids over nothing. In his opinion all the reasons he beat them up for were completely valid, though plenty of others would harshly disagree.

Around 20 minutes must have went by, since he began hearing more students gather outside near the window. There was still 10 minutes left of lunch so Vance decided to use up the last cigarette in his pack. He pulled out his half empty lighter and lit the tip, a glowy orange erupting. He inhaled the smoke and exhaled a few times before he was interrupted by someone coming into the bathroom. The door creaked open, the person now turning around the corner of wall. It was Bruce. Definitely not the worst person to walk in, but certainly not the best either. Vance was trying to ignore him since he didn't know why Bruce was being kind to him and thought it was some plan to fuck up Vance even more.

Vance looked up at the other, their eyes locking for a short moment before Bruce came over to the blonde and took away his cigarette, stomping on it underneath his shoe. "What the fuck Yamada?! That was my last one!!" Vance yelled standing up, feeling anger bubbling up inside of him. "You shouldn't be smoking that, it's horrible for your health" Bruce replied back in a calm tone. "And that fact that you're literally 15" he added. Vance only muttered a quiet 'fuck you' before stepping around Bruce, beginning to walk away. He didn't know what came over himself. Usually he'd be on top of him, punching his face in but this time was different. He didn't want to hurt him.

"Wait!" Bruce quickly spoke, grabbing Vances shoulder before he could run away. "What now Yamada, I've got places to be" Vance lied. He didn't have anywhere else to go apart from that very bathroom he was leaving. There was the Grab n' Go, though he was banned from it for a week due to violence and generally everyone being afraid of him. "I asked if you wanted to hang out yesterday but you didn't actually give me an answer" Bruce laughed a little at the end of his sentence shyly, looking down at Vance slightly. Vance felt as if he was in that same moment again, feeling his face heat up. He didn't know why he got so warm and flustered over such a small question. Maybe it was because no-body had asked to spend time with him for a long while. "Why? You actually want to be caught with someone like me?" Vance grinned, acting as if it didn't hurt to be an embarrassment to be seen with. Bruce looked at him confused, offended almost. "Yeah, why not? I think it'd be good to get to know each other better!" He said. "So you actually want to hang out" Vance asked, trying to convince himself that Bruce didn't actually mean it. He didn't know why he wanted it all to be a joke, probably because of the lack of friendships he had growing up made him believe that having friends or hanging out was weird. "Yeah! My place at 4pm?" Bruce asked. Vance nodded still trying to wrap his head around the fact that someone wanted to be near him. It made him feel happy deep down, though he's never actually admit that. "Uh sure? One problem, I don't know where your fucking house is" Vance replied. "Oh, right! We can meet in the parking lot and i can show you to my place if that's fine with you" Bruce said. "Yeah that's fine. Bye" Vance said starting to walk away, not realizing that he had begun smiling. Once he realized he wiped it away so fast that if you seen you'd think you were imagining it.

The final bell rang and students started flooding out of the school doors. Vance made his way to the parking lot, leaned against a wall and waited. Waited for Bruce.
