Chapter 9: She might be giant

At the school football field, Karen seemed to be heading to class.

Babs: [text] DUDE! OMG! #SoExcited! Can't wait for our BIG SURPRISE for the girls, Rook and Ben after school!

Karen: [texting] "I hope they like it" [gets hit by a football] AAH!

The football that hit Karen appeared to be from the school bully, Doris Zuel, along with her accomplice, Leslie Willis.

Doris: Hey, Beecher. Heads up.

Doris and Leslie: [laugh]

Karen: Oh...! Um... Hi, Doris. Fancy meeting you here while I was taking the extra, extra long way to Chemistry class.

Doris: Hey! I went to Chemistry class once. I know where that is! Tell you what. Why don't we escort you.

[Doris and Leslie take Karen to the locker room]

Karen: Uh... you guys...? Um... This isn't actually the Science building.

Doris: [mocking] "This isn't the Science building." You see, Beecher, that's your problem. You irritate me. You bug me. You're a puny little insect.

Leslie: And you know what Doris does to bugs... She squashes them.

Doris: Yeah. [grabs Karen and making her punch her face] Why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself?

Karen: Ok, Doris, very funny.

Leslie: You thought that was funny? Maybe you need a little time to yourself to think about how comedy works.

Doris: Yeah! Get in there and think about how comedy works!

Karen: Wait! I can do it myself.

Ben then sees Doris and Leslie shoving Karen into a locker, and he came to see what's gonig on.

Ben: Hey, what's going on here?

Doris: Putting a comedian in here for some time alone. What are you going to do about it?

Rook: [walks in] .

Doris: [suprised] Oh, !

Rook: Now, , how many times did I tell you to stop bullying people?

Doris: [startling] Well... I was just... I mean, I...

Rook: Do you want to do fifty laps when school starts?

Doris: No.

Rook: Good, now go and wait with the others before I change my mind.

Doris: [muttering] Yes sir. [walk away with Leslie]

Ben: [sees the two leave] Wow, nice Rook!

Rook: Now, lets get Karen out.

Rook use a tool to pick the lock from the locker that was holding Karen.

Karen: Thanks, Rook. I owe you one.

Rook: No prob! Let's get outta here.

Later, after school, Babs, Ben, Karen, and Rook were on their way to the base.

Karen: That's the fifth time this month. I don't get it! What did I ever do to her?

Babs: [eating apple] Nothing. Psychological proflies of bullies suggest they target the small and weak. [stops]

Ben: Babs!

Babs: Sorry. I meant the small and... awesome? [offers apple] Apple?

Rook: [grabs apple] Don't mind if I do. [eats apple]
