Kako no hikari

Part two

"Kasei , you've zoned out again!" A small girl was waving their hands in my face.

*blinks a couple times*

"Mokusei, is that you?" Is this a dream?

"Are you losing your mind?"
"Who else would it be?" she swished her hair

I hugged Mokusei. It had been so long.
"You have lost your mind." she hugged me back
"What day is it Moku?" I raised my eyebrow and looked around.
"It's monday why?"
"Oh I forgot." I looked in my pocket and pulled out my phone. It was January 3rd 3042.
I had gone back 1 year before the disaster.
"Hey where is Dosei?"
"He's outside waiting for you, come on let's go." She took my hand and dragged me down the hall.

I walked down the hall taking in my surroundings that were completely normal unlike how they were just 10 minutes ago. The halls filled with students leaving class during break. Laughter that I thought I would never hear again. I would be lying if I said tears were not threatening to escape my eyes. Watching Mokusei drag me through the hall was something so little that I missed so much. It all felt like a dream. How could I really be back with all my friends a year in the past.

"Dosei!" mokusei shouted.

The world had seemed to slow down as he turned his head towards us.

"Mokusei, Kasei!" he shouted back then jogged towards us.

"Where did you find Kasei this time?" Dosei asked Mokusei.

"He was in the abandoned classroom again." Mokusei said, poking at me.
"Hey that hurts!" I said moving away from Mokusei to avoid her attacks.
"That's the point!" Mokusei then started chasing me around Dosei trying to hit me with her shoe.
"Ahhhhhh!" I screamed as she landed a couple hits on my head. I held my arms over my head in an attempt to protect myself. I then ran behind Dosei, hugging him as a shield.
"I surrender." I yelled from behind Dosei.
"Hmph," she said, putting her shoe back on.
"Wimp."

I breathed a sigh of relief then hugged Dosei tightly.
"I missed you." I kissed the back of his neck.
"Well if you didn't go hide all the time you wouldn't miss me so much." He pulled me in front of him.

"I'm not hiding, I'm just avoiding human contact," I looked into his eyes.
"There's a difference." I smirked in glee at my remark.
"Ok, sure there is." he rolled his eyes.
"Are you done for the day?" I asked
"Yeah, I just need to drop something off in the front office before we leave." He said.
"Ok, I'll wait by the bench by the front gate," I say, losing my grip from the strange cuddle we were in.
"Hurry back ok." I say, then kiss his check and walk off to the front gate.
