Lila was in her secret chamber laughing evilly in front of her special mirror. "Finally, that marriage wasn't useless after all. I got what I want. The throne is all mine." She laughed. "The king left me the kingdom! I hope he dies in the war." She then stood in front of her magic mirror. "Now~ Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?" She asks the mirror.
"Fame is thy beauty your majesty but behold a young maiden I see. Alas she is more fair than thee." The mirror responded.
"Alas for her. Reveal her name." Lila told the mirror angrily.
"The girl with midnight blue hair and skin as white as snow, is the fairest of all."
"Marinette!" Lila responded angrily. "How is that even possible? She is still just a child. How can she compete with my beauty?"
"That is what I am saying. She may be a child but she is already more beautiful than thee." The mirror explained. "But she is not going to be a child forever. Her beauty is increasing everyday and in two years she will be known as the most beautiful woman in the world."
"You are lying! I am the most beautiful person in the world!" She shouted at the mirror.
"I only speak the truth my queen." The mirror replied back.
Lila was so furious that she stormed out her secret mirror chamber and back into her room. "Hmm, if something bad happened to her than I would be the fairest in the land." She cackled to herself as she calmed down enough to think of a plan to get rid of Marinette permanently.
The next morning, Lila called for the most skilled huntsman in the kingdom to the throne room. A man of about 26 came in. He had dark green blue hair and bowed as he approached the throne. "My Queen, you called for me?" He said.
"Yes. With the war going on, I can't have the princess wandering around the kingdom on her own. So I want you to take her out far into the woods. Find her some secluded glade where she can pick wildflowers or whatever she does." Lila said.
"Yes, your majesty." The huntsman nodded along.
"And there, my faithful Huntsman, you will kill her!" Lila finished.
"But your majesty, she's the princess." The huntsman protested.
"Silence! You know the penalty if you fail."
"Yes, your majesty." The huntsman sighed.
"But to make doubly sure you do not fail, bring back her heart in this." Lila said as she held out a box. The huntsman just nodded his head as he took the box.
A little while later, Marinette was dressed in her best gown and she was told that she would have an escort while in the woods. There was such bustle in the castle that morning as her stepmother seemed to be trying to get her out of the palace for some reason that she completely forgot Tikki who was still sleeping on her little bed in Marinette's bed chamber.
