Chapter 5

Adrien came up to the castle the next morning after his little panic attack last night as he was riding back to the Lunar Kingdom. His heart hurt even worse than before. He got off his horse and walked into the castle. "My deepest apologies Prince Adrien, but I cannot let you go any further." A guard announced.

"Why not?"

"It is the Queens order to not disturb her no matter what happens." The guard replied just as Alya ran up to them.

"But its really important that I meet the queen and the princess. At least let me meet the princess." Adrien begged.

"I am afraid that I cannot allow you to meet the..." The guard started to say.

"Adrien!" Alya practically shouted, causing both men to jump. "The queen has been holed up in her bedroom since yesterday morning. Also, I can't find Marinette. She went out picking flowers a few days ago but never came back."

"Wait what?" Adrien asked just as the guard let out a loud yipe. They both turned to look at him and they saw that he was nursing an injured hand and an irate Tikki glaring at him.

"Tikki, I thought that you were with Marinette?" Alya gasped as Tikki started falling to the ground. Adrien quickly caught her. They both looked at her and she looked terrible. "Oh no! We need sugar now." The guard quickly fetched sugar as Plagg came out of hiding. Once the guard came back with Tikki's sugar, really just cookies, she woofed them down.

"We need to go to the Queen's chamber."

"But she's still inside." The guard protested.

"Do you want me to bite you again?" The guard shook his head no. "I thought so. The queen isn't in there."

"But no one has seen her leave." Alya said.

"There is more than one way out of that room." Tikki said and the guard led them to the queen's room. They opened the door to reveal any empty bedroom. Tikki flew over to a wall with a lone wall sconce on it and sat on the wall sconce. "Pull this down." She said. Adrien immediately pulled on the wall sconce and the wall opened up.

"What the..." Everyone gasped out loud as they peered into the room. They noticed a spiral staircase that the guard said must have led to an old boat dock under the castle.

"The queen was a witch?" Alya murmured as she noticed the table full of spell books and vials and she saw a huge cauldron next to the table.

"A huge mirror?" Adrien questioned and he saw a face flash across the surface.

"What would thou want to know?" A voice in the mirror said and they all jolted.

"Where is the queen?" The guard asked.

"The Queen is dead. Her remains lay just beyond the jagged mountain. She died because she wanted to become the most beautiful in the world." The mirror responded. "Look to the 7 dwarves cottage just beyond the 7 jeweled hills beyond the seventh fall for what you seek."

"How do you know what I seek?" Adrien asked. The mirror just showed an image of a young Marinette and Adrien together.

"Go Adrien." Alya said. "It seems like Marinette may need you."

Adrien just nodded his head and he ran out of the room and out of the castle. He quickly mounted his horse and galloped off in the direction that the mirror spoke of. Tikki followed right behind him because she was worried about Marinette.

Adrien galloped through the forest and before he knew it, he came upon the cottage and a little off to the side, there were 7 little men around a glass coffin. The dwarves heard the horse snort and they turned to see Adrien, still clad in his armor, dismount his horse. They then saw Tikki zoom toward them and she stopped at the coffin and started wailing and they notice a black kwami follow her and try to console her. "You're him, the one she would talk about." A dwarf said. "We're sorry you're too late."
