Donghyuck doesn’t know how long he’s been running but he knows it was no use. There’s too many of them, and no Mark to save him this time. They’ll chase him until he got too tired to fight back, and just like that his life will be over. He’ll die in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but corn fields to care about his death.

At the last moment he catches sight of a tornado shelter ahead, wasting no time to throw himself inside it and shut the door right before the first walker lands on top of it.

Donghyuck falls down to the bottom, too exhausted to move. As he lies there he can’t help but listen to the sounds of the walkers, tons of them, all looking for him. He can imagine how they will find him, pull him out and all gather around, hungry. He’s shivering, maybe, scratching at his skin nervously if he's honest. The last way he wants to die is like this, alone yet surrounded by walkers.

Just like Jeno.

He can’t fight for consciousness any longer, his pain mixing with the memories that hit him out of nowhere. In a way, he’s probably desperate to remember, to understand how Jeno had felt so that he’ll feel less alone himself. If he’s out when the walkers finally get to him, maybe he won’t be able to feel the pain of teeth sinking into his skin, tearing his life away painfully slow.
