"Um...Hi. I'm Hermione Granger. Time to put some magic to good use." • "Sort of exciting, isn't it? Breaking the rules..." ____________________
Hermione Granger stepped out of the rift, her legs shaking a little, as she had been flying around in empty space for what seemed like a long time. For a moment, she couldn't see a thing. The warm light of the sun was shining bright. Shielding her eyes, Hermione observed her surroundings, suddenly realizing the rift had taken her to the roof of a building.
She turned around as it started to ripple, indicating that someone else was coming through. At that moment, Marty McFly came out, struggling to keep his balance.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." He said, shaking his head. "Really wish there was an easier way to travel between dimensions."
Hermione nodded, "Yes, it can be a little nerve racking sometimes."
Marty came and stood beside her, looking out at the view in front of them.
Spread out below was Hill Valley, and beyond its borders were endless mountains and valleys.
"It's really beautiful, Marty." Hermione said, taking in the picturesque landscape below.
Marty turned and looked at her, noticing how pretty she looked in the light.
He smiled, "Yeah, it is."
"Where should we go first?" Hermione asked.
"Well, we have to go see my friend Doc. I told him about you, and now he keeps asking me to bring you here. Said something about wanting to gather scientific data. Whatever that means."
"Alright. But..." Hermione looked at the edge of the building. "How will we get down from here?"
"Don't worry, Mione." Marty said, getting out his hoverboard, "This is how we'll get around."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Hermione asked, somewhat unsure. "Is it safe?"
"Yeah, I use it all the time. But, the thing is, only one person can ride it at a time. So..." He came over and swept Hermione into his arms, causing her to scream.
"Marty! What are you doing?!" She exclaimed, squirming in his grasp.
"I'll carry you, just hold on tight." Marty said, getting on the hoverboard. Hermione watched as he leaned over the edge, tightening her grip around his neck.
Later...
"Marty, my boy! What are you doing?"
"Doc!" Marty yelled, suddenly coming to a stop, Hermione still in his arms.
"I, uh...was just coming to introduce you to my friend...Hermione." He gently lowered her to the ground, getting off the hoverboard.
"Ah, yes! Hermione Granger." Doc said as he came up to them. "The first individual to visit Hill Valley hailing from another world entirely. Fascinating!"
"Well, we don't have any time to waste!" He spun around and quickly ran back inside.
Marty and Hermione stood in silence, watching.
"Doc? What're you doing?" Marty yelled from outside.
Doc emerged once more, "If we're going to figure out how this works, I'm going to have to ask this young lady a few questions."
"And, it begins..." Marty sighed.
"Don't worry, Marty. I happen to have a skill for this sort of thing." Hermione smiled, beaming.
