Luke's POV
"Shh, it's okay angel I've got you." I stroked Ashton's curls as his sons died down.
How could his so called "parents" just tell him like that? They must be messed up in the head or something,
Ashton sniffles cuddling closer to me. "L-Lukey?" He whispered.
"Hmm?" I hummed looking down at the small boy in my arms.
"I-I want to run away."
I sucked in a breath.
If he ran away, I would be all alone and life would suck.
I mean, why would I run away? My family loves me.
But, Ashton has a good reason to run away...
I suck in a breath, "A-Ash please don't. You can get really hurt out there on your own."
"W-would you come with me?" Ashton asked looking up at me with hope in his eyes.
"I-I don't know?" I honestly didn't know what to tell him. I didn't want to make him feel bad and say, "oh I actually have a nice family that loves me. why should I run?"
That would just be a jerk move.
Ashton huffs, "I figured you would say that."
I frown, "Bug, can we please talk about this in the morning? You should probably get some sleep."
Ashton's face paled a little causing confusion to run through me.
"C-can you stay?" Ashton looked like he was scared to sleep, "P-please?"
I nod, "Of course." Ashton snuggled into my chest as I layed back against the soft duvet.
"Sleep well bug..."
