I've gotten obsessed with Iron Harvest (a 19th-century dieselpunk real-time strategy game) lately, so let's cross it over with a completely unrelated game: Genshin Impact!

(A member of a Discord server I'm in literally told me to keep Iron Harvest one imperial mile away from anime.)

Polanian Diplomat Reader (Iron Harvest) x Raiden Shogun (Genshin Impact)

Warning: I suggest reading up on some lore before reading this oneshot, as I won't directly provide you with anything.

Here's some backstory: There are three major nations in Iron Harvest. The Polania Republic, the Rusviet Tsardom, and the Empire of Saxony. Another nation, the American Union of Usonia exists, but it doesn't play a large role in the game other than attacking Rusviet. I suggest reading some lore before reading this oneshot, as I won't directly provide you with anything.

To summarize: strange portals appeared all over the nations in Europe after the events of the Saxony campaign. This added to the list of problems that Europe was suffering, namely the fact that Rusviet was ruled by Fenris and Saxony ruled by a madman, Kaiser Wilhelm II.

All three nations sent in forces to investigate it and it leads to a grassy land area of the Dark Sea, or in their eyes, known as a starting foundation in this strange world. Eventually, these portals would become stabilized thanks to Nikola Tesla's brilliance in constructing stabilizers which helped stabilize said portals (Saxony and Rusviet obtained the portals via backdoor methods). However, since these areas were relatively near each other, it wasn't long before war broke out.

When the nations did arrive in Teyvat, they also discovered Mora. Seeing as how it's used for crafting nearly everything that people use, Saxony and Rusviet quickly started trying to hoard massive amounts by trading their weapons and machinery for a chance to potentially use some of Teyvat's equipment to fight against Fenris. Saxony went towards Mondstadt, while Rusviet proceeded to travel to the more bountiful Liyue.

Meanwhile, Polania (and civilians from Tesla's Factory as well) has just been trying to get along with the people, taking their time when it comes to collecting mora. Their spot in the Dark Sea is closest to Inazuma, so they tried to interact with them first. However, they also were caught up in the events of the Vision Hunt Decree (traveler doesn't exist here yet).

Because of the problems the island nation of Inazuma is going through, Polanians largely strayed away from it and just tried to survive. They largely know of foreign nations through friendly Rusviet and Saxony diplomats visiting them.

You, however, are a Polanian diplomat, who despite being a diplomat, occasionally fights on the frontlines driving a large mech that will be mentioned in the story. You and your mech are only called in for the toughest of scenarios. You're also quite bold of a person, and you're not a dense airhead (*cough cough* Ash Ketchum *cough cough*) either.

You also dress up very much like a Polanian Rifleman, causing some to almost forget until they notice your black coat and dark brick red cap with a bronze Polanian eagle. You also wear boots that have their footsteps nearly silenced.

Now, onto the story.
