??? 1: You used to be an aspiring robotics engineer who at the age of 30, was hired to create an AI which could manage many automated systems at the time. You and your team of twenty-nine other colleagues were successful in creating an AI with a female voice that could manage malware control, financial income and tax collection, defensive scans, and security measures.
??? 1: Your colleagues were glad that the project was over after two years of tirelessly working to program and control the AI. However, you saw more potential in it.
??? 2: Yes, I can vaguely visualize it.
??? 1: You asked the U.S. Government if you could further develop the AI while leaving your colleagues oblivious. They granted you permission, on the terms that you'd pay out of your own pockets, and that if the AI ever turned against the government, it would be shut down and you would face termination.
??? 1: The AI lab was closed down for several days so that you could work in secret.
??? 1: So, what did you do? Firstly, you programmed the AI with self-awareness, usually a big mistake in sci-fi films. But instead of turning against you and the government, it learned to bond with you and developed a personality. Considering that it had a female voice, you gave it the pronoun 'she.' You also taught her to swap between her usual AI persona and her more human persona.
??? 1: You showed to her what humans had created, such as video games and anime. She never grew bored of spending time on those digital entertainment options.
??? 1: On her first birthday, you programmed her a virtual birthday party which she loved. The gift that she wanted was a name, a unique one at that. You were horrible at naming things, but when you said the name 'Melody,' she liked it and your bonds further strengthened. However, you also had another gift planned for her as a surprise. A virtual avatar.
