Your ideal date may be a nice candle lit dinner by the beach with your favourite person or a nice walk in the park followed by a double scoop ice cream to share but here? In the apocalypse? Nothing spells romance more than a scavenge as a pair occasionally joined by your pooch.
Daryl, Connie and Dog walked down the long forest surrounding roads in hope of finding an untouched supply store for them to bring back to the group, Connie intertwined her long, slim fingers into a lock with Daryl's rugged, large contrasting hand as they walked down the road, further away from home with every step they took.
Dog circled around, bringing sticks or random tennis balls he finds in the grass for Daryl or Connie to throw as they continued to walk before he spots a building and barks at Daryl who checks it out, Bingo!
They head through the small wooded area to approach the untouched building, still in tact with boards covering the windows which Connie yanks off for them to both climb in. Daryl turns his flashlight on before clicking on his radio to check if they were still in range, "Carol?" he says down the radio.
"Hey," Carol says, static often taking control, "You found something, you're a little staticky."
"So are you, yeh we found this building, looks like a convenience store, will probably need a car bringing down for this stock, just follow the main road down and you'll see a large concrete building about 10 minutes into driving." He instructs using his flashlight to take a look around.
"Got it, wont be long with a car." Carol says, the radio clicking as a signal she's turned it off, he does the same.
I'll take the back isles, Connie signs, pointing.
Take Dog, Daryl says before she taps her thighs and they rush off to the opposite side of the store.
Daryl starts filling his bag with items off the shelf, different hygiene products, random snacks that were left behind, baby and kid clothes etc.
Connie reaches the end of the building, surrounded by more clothes, shoes and winter gear. She yanks the items off the wall and begins shoving them in the bags she brought, Dog sniffing things down for her to take, occasionally bringing them over to her himself.
Once finished with their first isles, they head to their next one, waving at eachother at the end of their isles from opposite sections of the store.
Daryl starts tackling the chip section of the store, grinning wildly as if he'd hit the jackpot, he grabbed multiple brands with different flavours, his mouth tingling as he grabbed them.
Connie heads down an isle filled with ingredients necessary for bread making, condiments and tinned food, she shoves them in her bag, checking if they were still safe for everyone.
Dog stands stiffly, his usual self fading. Connie raises an eyebrow and walks closer to him slowly, holding a hand out to pet him. He starts to bark before Connie turns to look behind her, a group of five people behind her one rushing over to grab her.
She reaches for her gun but before she can the guys got a hold of her, knife to her throat as dog barks louder, running over to bite his legs.
"Get this mutt away!" He shouts the others, rushing over before Dog makes a run to get Daryl, "what are you doing here?" The guy says to Connie as she strains. "DAMN IT WOMAN ANSWER ME."
"Is she dense? Not talkings just gonna get her killed quicker." One of the girls says.
Daryl whistles for Dog as he rushes over, Dog barks at him before he takes the hint and drops his shit and rushes down to Connie.
"She isn't alone." Another member of the group says, noticing Daryl running down, "quick we gotta go."
"Why? If there's only two of them we're fine." The guy holding Connie says.
