Time is one of those mysterious things that we as a species tend to believe that we have a handle on but, we never truly do.

I woke up with a start my entire being ached in pain as I looked around an old residential home. I was startled by the amount of dust and cobwebs everywhere. I groan softly as I pull my body to my feet. I push my dark red hair back from my face before exiting the house. It was even more startling to see that it was like the house and the world around me has aged several decades. I push my thoughts away from the mild discomfort in my throat as I travel through the woods. I pop out in front of an odd-looking building with several shiny contraptions. I am pulled from my wonder when I run into someone. "Woah, watch where you are going yeah?" Says a male voice. I look down in shame, "O-O-Oh, I'm sorry sir..." I say in a quiet tone. "It's alright love, are you alright?" He asks me and I nod my head my body suddenly feeling very tired and heavy. "D-Do you know where the S-Salvatores live?" I ask him and he nods his head. "Yeah you take the main and you go down a few miles and it is on your left." He says explain and I feel my vision blurring before my body starts to fall. "Woah Woah, okay, Matt! Mr. Saltsman!" He calls before my world goes completely dark.

I wake up in a very bright white room the sound of beeping filling my ears. I turn my head to the side and my twin brother Stefan was wearing his evening best. "Mmmm, Stefan?" I whisper softly. He turns to me with wide eyes, "Hesperia." He whispers softly to me. He looks to the door and I turn my head as well. "Damon?" I whisper sitting up on my elbows. I take in his appearance he was wearing a black button-up and black slacks. "What the hell are you wearing?" I mumble to him. He and Stefan laugh slightly to themselves before Damon comes to the room and shuts the door. "How are you feeling Hes?" He asks me and I shrug my shoulders. "I feel fine, why do you two look so worried?" I ask and they look between themselves and then back at me. "What happened to you the night Katherine got captured?" Stefan asks me and I look at him confused before tilting my head to the side. "Emily she did a spell on me, I passed out and I woke up in this old place, and then I stumbled into this guy and then I passed out again," I explain to them, before looking at them seriously. "Why what year is it?" I ask them worriedly. Damon looks at Stefan who nods his head. "Little star, it is 2010." He explains to me. I look at him startled my lip quivering. "I-I've been gone for a hundred and forty-five years?" I ask them in a voice that is barely audible. They hang their heads down low. I nod my head and slowly stand up taking out the needles in my hands. "Hey, Hey you need to not do that," Stefan says and I glare at him. "Get me the hell out of this place I hate the white," I tell him. Damon grabs my dress and hands it to me. I nod my head gratefully and change into my clothes. Damon holds out a hand to me and leads me outside much to the dismay of Stefan. I smile softly to myself as I look around at all the crazy stuff going around. "What is with the big party?" I ask him and he chuckles. "Well, it is Founder's Day. They made it into a celebration. But with no ball like in our time." He says softly. I giggle softly as we walk through the crowd.

We were walking through the town square when a boy around my age walks in front of us. "I have so many emotions, but I don't have any way to express them. Being a teenager is so hard!" Damon says in a mocking tone to the guy in front of us. I frown slightly at him before the guy turns around to face us. "You're a dick!" The guy says. "You do not talk to me like that! I'm not your sister. And for now on," Damon grabs Jeremy's arm. "Don't talk to your sister that way either." He says in a dark tone causing me to look at Damon with wide eyes. "So, you're going to kill me just 'cause I hurt Elena's feelings?" The boy says softly. "Cut her some slack," Damon says softly.

"She erased my memories." The guy says angrily

"No, I did! She was protecting you."

"It wasn't her call to make." The tries to leave but Damon grabs his arm and pulls him back roughly. "Let go of me before I cause a scene." He says quietly. "You'll be unconscious before you even got a word out Jeremy." Damon says rudely, before Stefan arrives. "Let him go." Stefan says to Damon both of them seemingly forgetting about me. Damon releases him. Stefan puts himself between them and looks at Jeremy. "Are you alright?" Stefan asks. Jeremy nods his head, "Yeah." Stefan looking at Damon, "What my brother is trying to say is, don't blame Elena for this. Damon turned Vicki, I killed her. She was a threat to you, and she was a threat to your sister. I'm sorry that it happened, I wish that it hadn't." Stefan says Damon looks at Stefan. "You shouldn't have made me forget..." Jeremy says before he leaves brushing past me. I look at my brothers completely terrified, "You two killed someone?" I whisper softly and they turn around and look at me stunned. "Firefly-" Damon starts walking towards me and step back. "Don't just don't." I whisper before disappearing into the crowd.

I spent the day walking around town and catching up on major events. I was wondering around waiting for the fireworks to begin when I run into Damon, Stefan, and a girl who I couldn't see her face. I walk over to them and Damon looks worried. "Dam, what's wrong?" I say softly. The three of them look up at me and I look at the girl startled. "Katherine?" I ask confused the girl shakes her head. "No my name is Elena." She explains and I turn to Damon. "What's wrong?" I ask him. "Fifteen words or less...Tomb vamps are here. Founding families are their target." He starts before he turns to Stefan, "Get them out of here, now!" He says. Damon starts to leave. "Wait, where are you going?" Stefan asks. "That's more than fifteen words, Stefan." He says and he heads off to leave. "Damon wait!" I call chasing after him ignoring the sounds of Stefan calling after me. I look around the plaza in fear trying to find Damon, "Damon! Damon!" I scream as suddenly people around me start to drop in pain. My eyes lock with a man in a grey suit carrying Damon's limp body. I go to race towards him when my hand gets grabbed. I turn around and a woman is pulling me around the back of the building. "Emily?" I whisper as she pulls me around. When we get there Stefan runs towards the emergency door but the girl who looks like Emily stops him. "Hey, you can't go in there!" She says, Stefan opens the door. "The fire will take you out." She tells him. Stefan looks to her. "He's our brother, Bonnie!" He says looking at her and then to me I nod my head to him. He goes into the building, he tries to open the basement's door but the doorknob is too hot. Bonnie is looking at the building when Elena arrives. I grab Bonnie's arm and look into her eyes, she nods her head and recites with me, "Ex spiritum intacullum, in terrum incendium, fes matos salvis adisdum!" Elena tries to enter the building and Bonnie holds her arm tightly. "Bonnie, I've got to get in there!" Bonnie and I were still reciting the spell. I could see in the building, Stefan can finally open the door but the fire is too large. Suddenly, the flames diminish, thanks to Bonnie's spell. Stefan goes into the basement and finds Damon. "Damon! Come on, hurry!" Stefan shouts. Stefan picks Damon up and vamp-runs out of the basement. Outside, Bonnie finishes her spell and looks at Elena. "Bonnie...Bonnie, what is it? Are they gonna be okay?" She asks her worriedly before, Stefan and Damon come out of the building, Elena runs toward them. They run past her and hug me tightly. I hug them back just as tight, "You boys ever do something that stupid again I will hurt you." I warn them with tears in my eyes. Damon kisses my forehead and Stefan wipes away my tears. "Damon I think you and Hesperia should head to the house." He says and Damon nods before picking me up. "Close your eyes Firefly." He whispers softly and I nod my head closing my eyes. We arrive home and I smile happily as look over the old place. "Home," I whisper softly.
