The opening ends to show Mercury in the training room in the house in the late afternoon. He was emitting the metallic liquid from his hands as he practiced shaping and forming the substance gaining more control over his new abilities. Mercury continues to train until he hears footsteps stopping at the stairs. He looks up to see Yang standing on the stairway noticing him as her happy mood soon fades.
Yang: Oh, you're here...
Mercury: Sorry... Did you need to use this room too?
Yang looks to the side as she finished walking down the stairs and over to the wall.
Yang: No. Go ahead, take your time. I'll wait...
She crossed her arms and leans up against the wall. Mercury stands still for a moment before slowly going back to training. He recreated the metallic liquid but not as large as before, he started punching and kicking but while going for a punch the liquid shot out and hits the wall as they become knives.
Mercury: Huh, that's new.
While Mercury is training around the room with punches and kicks. Yang watches as she loudly sighs.
Yang: They can attack at anytime, I hate being kept in the dark like this...
Mercury: Yeah, believe me Cinder was a pain, but at least she kept us filled in when things were to come up.
He continues training as Yang looks over to him with a look of caution and curiosity.
Yang: Can I ask you something?
Mercury stops for a moment to look at Yang before getting back into training.

Mercury: You're gonna.
Yang: Why did you join them? What made you want to be a part of that?
Mercury: Why are you asking...
Yang: Just answer the question.
Mercury sighed as he continues training while he answers.
Mercury: Just made sense, at the time.
Yang: It made sense?
Mercury: All my life, my father trained me to be a killer, an assassin like him. And then moments after I killed him, they showed up looking for someone with my exact skills. Just felt like it was meant to be at that point in my life.
Yang: That's it?
Mercury: Hey, what's your problem?
Yang gets off the wall and starts walking towards Mercury.
Yang: I mean, there has to be something you want from this, right?
Mercury: From what I heard, the Elemental Forces are destined to be something great in the world. If I could be something more than a killer's son, I'll take it. What more of a reason do you want?
