Taking in a deep breath, I then slowly let it out. I was nervous the entire time I was getting ready for the banquet, and it only worsened as I made my way to the main courtyard where the mixer was being held.

The main source of my nerves came from my clothes. Yet again, Rosalind had provided clothes that exposed my back. Thankfully, she had also included an enchanted pendant to glamour my wings.

The other reason I was nervous was Riven. I wasn't sure how he'd react to seeing me in a dress and presenting more feminine. This was also the first time I would be wearing makeup around him, courtesy of Terra's help.

She had reassured me that I looked fine, which I didn't argue with, but I was nervous nonetheless. Would Riven find me strange like this, or would he be okay with it?

"Ash! You look amazing!" Bloom was grinning when she caught sight of me. "I knew Terra was helping you with your makeup, but wow." She chuckled while looking me up and down. "That's such a pretty dress, too."

I couldn't help but smile as some of the nerves eased away from her bright attitude. And she wasn't wrong about the dress, either. Rosalind had picked a flowing dress made of overlapping, thin fabric with reds and oranges creeping through the black.

"You look lovely as well." I said while looking at her well-fit dress that was a beautiful blue that complimented her eyes. Her hair was also partly up with the rest down and straightened, and she wore large, layered, golden earrings.

"Thank you. Also, seriously, I'm so glad you're here." Bloom hooked her arm with mine before leading me away from the entrance. "I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. People keep mentioning how I transformed, and it's honestly becoming suffocating."

"I'm surprised Rosalind hasn't already swooped in to get you."

"I'm not sure if that would be any better." Bloom muttered while fixing her hair. "Kinda trying to avoid her, actually."

  "Why?"

"I mean, she's so tense and cryptic. I'd like to have some kind of fun here. Speaking of, where's your boyfriend?" Bloom smiled at me, and I glanced around the room.

"Who knows? We were supposed to meet here since he had to help set up."

"Aw, are you looking for me?" Riven asked as he stepped out from behind a column with a drink in his hand. However, as soon as he looked at me, he paused. The nerves all came rushing back as his gaze wandered over me.

"Well, speak of the devil." Bloom popped off. I bit the inside of my cheek to try and keep calm as I could feel my skin getting warmer.

Riven apparently cleaned up rather well himself.

He was wearing a dark blue suit with the top buttons of his shirt left undone. His hair was done in the usual messy-but-nice way, and he smelled rather good even from where I stood.

A smirk played onto Riven's lips before he got closer to me. Taking my free hand in his, he brought my knuckles to his lips to kiss them while looking me in the eye.

"Hello, gorgeous." Riven purred, and his approval washed away my previous concerns. How his pupils dilated even proved he didn't find the way I looked strange but in fact showed that he liked it. "I certainly wasn't expecting to see you like this."

"You look good in a suit."

"Of course I do. Now, let me see all of you." Riven still held my hand while making me twirl around. The layers of the dress fanned out from the movement, and I couldn't help but laugh. "Fuck me, you're stunning."
