For his/her family she over hears the villagers fighting over something about the queen.
"Ai! That's what was announced she's allowing pardon for anyone who can fight their way to the death realm I hear she's trying to find the Forbidden ones!"
The surrounding villagers all stand still, as did I it has been lost for many of years.
Everyone is on edge no one is allowed to speak of them, they challenged the queen and declared war, and after it was declared multiple villagers dropped dead, and so did guards.
Everyone was silent I took the chance to grab some food and run to my mum.
*1 hour later*
"Mother I've gotten us bread!
Stew tonight!" She was heard stepping down to put away the bread quickly.
I looked at her puzzled "what's wrong?" She look horribly ill
"Mother are you sick what's wrong? Do yo-"
"Child the queen has requested to see you and your cousins they are sending 2 of you off for marriage to the death realm, they have asked to keep the rest to find out if one of you are the gate keeper for the Forbidden world."
She was cold with her words and looked very ill I've never seen her like this. "So what would you have me do mother?"
She just stopped and said "go to sleep they are bringing horses for us"
I was unaware this was a slight problem for me I had a heist to pull off tomorrow. "Oh alright, will you b-" She yells abruptly " YES, Y/N GO TO BED!" I wonder towards my room "alright goodnight mother."
---next morning----
*horses pounding*
I hear guards at my door and my mother answering them. "Why can't I go with her! I'm her mother! She can't be alone near tha-" I rush down "Mother it's fine I can handle myself, I'm sure the guards will hell or alert you if im hurt" I blurt out "but child they are crooked people, please you don't know what you doing." Just before I could say anything someone busted in and grabbed my arm.
He said in a gruff voice "it's fine both of you are gonna be fine, you can visit tomorrow ma'am will that be acceptable today is just look for the gatekeeper." We both mumbled an okay.
Even though I hate this idea im worried for her she's never been by herself all day. I'm loaded onto the horses, "they won't bite it's an hour ride though so be ready"
The man who grabbed me earlier to try and calm me. "Well I would hope not I bite back" I laughed he chuckled as well I waved goodbye to my mother she waved goodbye to me as well. "I love you!" She yelled crying.
I already miss her. Well onto the road of the dreaded sun, I just hope I'll just be sent home with my mother. I need to be with her. she was already ill, and what of my heist i hope they won't be upset about it.
