I finally decided to concentrate on my love life instead of the social media. People were still burying me alive so I heard from Amelia, Nicky and Casey. I don’t understand why people decide to concentrate on someone’s life they don’t even know. Some even go as far as buying all the expensive airtime bundles just to throw nasty comments on some unknown person’s life.

Today I woke up to my phone ringing and it was Max telling me that he wants to take me to dinner and that he has a surprise for me. As much as I hated surprise, Max was the only man that made me love them. I told him that I would join him only if he gets me laid. I totally blame my former job as a stripper and commercial sex worker for making this horny bitch in me. He just ordered me to join him and murmured an ‘I love you’. The line went off just after that.

While I was drinking some coffee with Nicky on the kitchen counter, Amy walked in in a hurry.  I wanted to offer her a ride but I’ve tried that before and it never ended well. It always ended with me taking her to school forcefully so just watched her sipping in my favourite coffee until she spoke making me choke on it.

“Kate. You’re taking me to school.” Amelia said as she walked towards her satchel on the couch. She actually shocked us both. She never wanted to be seen with me at school let alone taking her to it. “Come on Kate. I’m running late.” I was still shocked so I didn’t take any action only  my eyes were following her asking one short and precise question: For real? Since I didn’t get any reply from her I turned to Nicky who just shrugged at me.

“Oh..Okay.” I jumped up and grabbed Cranky’s keys and hurried to the car. “Hop in.” she just obeyed but this time she sat in the front shocking me. She never sits in the mother sit.

“Are you going to drive me or I should hire an expensive taxi.” She brought me out of my trance.

“Oh yes. Sorry.” I said grinning sheepishly. “Buckle up.” With that we moved out of the parking lot and headed to Westlehood high in a comfortable silence but I broke it. I was so damn curious why the winds had changed. “If I may ask, what did you do to Amelia?”

“Shut the fuck up Kate or I will jump out.” She burst but she was smiling which had me smiling too.

We reached the school and the paparazzi was already there waiting. Shit! But luckily there were man in black preventing them from reaching a certain area so I chose to park there. This time around Amelia did not run. She hugged me goodbye at the entrance and left. When I turned to go, I marched into a wall and I clearly remembered that there was no wall earlier.

“Max.” my voice was very low with a gasp attached to it. I didn’t expect him here since he told me that he had a lot of work to take care off until the dinner he invited me to. “What happened to the work?”

“It can wait.” He said smiling.

“People already think I bewitched you. Don’t you think you should focus more on your work other than a useless me?”

“You’re important to me, Katerina. I had missed you.” He changed the topic and kissed me making everyone gasp and the clicks of cameras increased. I tried to push him but he didn’t even budge. He let go of me with a smirk on his face. “They will kill you more now.” He said and left with a smug.

“The sexy arrogant ass.” I muttered looking at his ass. He kissed his children and headed to the car.

When I started walking, two of the six bodyguards moved in front to act as a barricade against the paparazzi.

Alexis walked gracefully in front of us but got stopped by the two giants.

“Its okay.” I said and she was allowed in.

“Walk on top of the water Katerina while you still can. Soon I will end that fairy-tale fantasy of yours.” She spat and I sighed in return as she walked towards the entrance of the school.

I had to pick Amelia at school. She had asked me to pick her earlier and im actually going to have a stroke if she keeps on shocking me like that. I stopped at the entrance and there she was. She walked to the front again.

“Ms Kate. Can I talk to you?” Astrid, Maxwell’s first sixteen year old daughter said at the window.

“Sure.” I said as I got down from the car after one of the bodyguards opened the door for me.

“Do you love my dad or you’re just after his money?” she fired taking me of guard.

“I do love him, Astrid.” That was true. She took long staring directly into my eyes as if searching for a lie.

“Better be love, Ms Kate. But if you ever hurt my dad you will answer to me and believe me I will make your life a living hell. Do I make myself clear?”  Wow. Someone inherited their father’s bossy gene.

“Crystal.” I smiled at her which she didn’t return. She looked around realising that the paparazzi were beginning to surround us but out of earshot. They walked closer because the six were outnumbered but strong enough to hold them, Astrid smiled at me and I was sure it was all fake.

“Play along.” She whispered in my ear when she hugged me. “I don’t like you Ms Kate. So you better stay in your lane and I will stay in mine.” She said behind that grin which biased the paparazzi.

Massimo, Max’s twelve year old son came forward and said, “Can I call you mom?” he smiled. He had most of his father’s feature you could actually think that he was a younger version of Max.

“Sure.” I smiled down at him and he snuggled me in a hug.

“Mom.” The last born of Max, Ashlin hugged me too. I kneeled to her level. She was five.

“Hi Ashlin.” I smiled at her which she responded back.

“Let’s go guys. We don’t have time.” Astrid interrupted telling her siblings.
“Bye mom.” Both Massimo and Ashlin said at the same time.

“Bye.”

Astrid stopped and ran back to hug me. With a huge fake smile again, “Bye Madre.”

“Bye Astrid.” I didn’t know what she meant by Madre but I’m sure it wasn’t good.
