The next day, while Y/n had showed up, Bakugou's situation didn't get better. Y/n was quiet- TOO quiet. Her friends were concerned about her not only based off that but also her appearance. She looked so tired, so dead to the world. Her hair was a mess like she had just gotten out of bed, her uniform was all wrinkled and her buttons were done all sloppy. Her eyes were lifeless, the dark circles under them deep against her pale face. It was as if all the life had been sucked out of her.

Bakugou noticed instantly, but he made no effort to comment on her appearance or focus on it. 'Must have just had a hard night,' he told himself over and over- everything was normal and fine and he'd done nothing wrong. He kept thinking that over and over. He wasn't in the wrong.

He was wrong. Bakugou had almost rounded the corner to go to his locker but stopped as he saw Ochako and Y/n head into a dark classroom. While he couldn't care less what they were doing, he couldn't wait to snitch on perfect Ochako so he decided to barge in on them. Only, he didn't. He managed to get to the door and stopped when he heard them talking about him.

"Y/n, you have to tell me what happened between you and Bakugou! I know he went to apologize to you the other day, but you skipped yesterday and you look horrible today! What happened?" Ochako pleaded, holding onto Y/n's hands so lightly. Y/n knew Ochako wasn't there to make fun of her- she was there to support and be a real friend. If she told her, Ochako wouldn't tell a soul. She knew that, yet she'd been hiding things. Perhaps it would be better if she started telling Ochako things...

Bakugou leaned into the door to hear better, and he heard Y/n perfectly.

"I asked him if he liked me, then he told me to leave. I had probably overstepped his boundaries, but I couldn't help it. I just wanted to hope I was right...I just wanted....," Y/n's voice tapered off as Ochako hugged her, Y/n started to cry a bit. Bakugou had to stop himself from rolling his eyes at girls being girls, but he needed to know what Y/n had wanted. If he had messed up, he needed to know how. Girls weren't easy.

"It's okay, Y/n. Bakugou doesn't like anyone, he probably got defensive and yelled at you....," Ochako cooed, before Y/n pushed her back a bit, surprising both Ochako and Katsuki.

"But...! I wanted him to like me.... Like.... To LIKE like me.....," Y/n blushed a bit, color returning to her face slightly as she was embarrassed.

"....wait.... Don't tell me you....!" Ochako gasped, holding her face in her hands.

"Yeah...... I like Katsuki..... like, REALLY like him......," It was then Bakugou saw the most genuine smile on Y/n's face, no matter how small it was. But then it was gone in a second.

"But.... He rejected me...," Y/n let go of Ochako, turning around and hiding her face in her arm. She continued to cry as Ochako went to hug her again, feeling her true pain now. Only Bakugou was feeling something else.

Katsuki was full blown embarrassed. His face felt hot and his heart wouldn't shut the fuck up. He didn't know what the feeling was, but he knew he hated what it did to him and he needed it to stop. He rushed away from the door, trying to think of anything else as he went to his locker

"....fuck......," Bakugou muttered to himself, unlocking his locker to grab his things.

As more days seemed to pass, Y/n's condition got better and better, slowly returning back to normal- but she always still seemed sad. Bakugou tried his hardest not to acknowledge her- just the sight of her made him think about her confession and the sight of her from their previous lustful encounters. Though, it became hard not to look at someone you were pinned against in a training battle.
