Vanessa's POV
Tyler. My ex boyfriend who abused me.
I broke up with him because I needed to get away from him. If I didn't then I would be dead right now.
"What's wrong babe?" JJ asks from the couch and everyone else looks up at me
"Nothing I'm good just texting my mum"
I close my phone and go back over to the boys.
My phone goes off once more and it's the same number.
From Blocked number: good u lied to them. I'm always watching you so don't tell them of I will hurt them one by one.
I take a deep breath and relax into JJ's arms. I feel safe in his arms.
I let my mind drift off until I fall asleep.
JJ's POV
I may be a boy but I'm not stupid. Vanessa wasn't texting her mom.
She looked scared when she read the text.
I look over at her and I see that she sleeping. I look over at her phone which is in her hand. I take my phone and switch it out with hers
I turn on he phone and I try to open it but of course she changed her password.
I put her phone back. But I will find out what and who she was texting.

Vanessa's POV
I wake up on the couch and nobody else is down here.
I walk upstairs and everyone yells
"SURPRISE"
Oh ya it's my birthday.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!"
"Thanks."
"What are you not happy" JJ says coming up to me
"No I'm fine."
"Are you positive?"
"YES GOD JJ JUST STOP!"
Everything goes silent. I run out of the house and into the woods. Once I get to the hill I realize that I forgot my phone at the house.
I hear footsteps behind me and I look around to see a tear faced JJ
"JJ I'm really really sorry, I just got pissed. I'm really stressed right now"
"Hey, hey, hey it's ok. I forgive you. Can you tell me what's going on"
"I-I-I here look".
I show him my phone.
"Hey. I'm gonna protect you and ourselves. But we need to go back home right now. Cuz everybody is waiting"
"Ok"
We walk back to the house and I apologize to everyone for yelling at them.
The doorbell rings and I walk over to answer it. I see a man who looks a lot like me.
"Vanessa?"
"Um yes"
"I'm your father"
"What?! JACK CONE HERE RIGT NOW!!!!"
"Fine" he yells and comes to the door
"Who are you?" He asks our so called dad
"I'm your dad"
"Get out" he responds.
"Ok. But I came here to give this to Vanessa. Here" he hands me a box and walks away.
"Go throw that away right now Vanessa" Jack says
"No"
"WHAT?!"
"I said. No. I want to see what's inside"
"VANESSA HE ABANDONED US THROW AWAY THAT GIFT. RIGHT NOW!!!!!!" He goes to take the gift away but strikes me across the face and I fall to the floor
"Vanessa. I'm so sorry. Tears are already falling down his face"
I don't say anything I just take the gift and run upstairs to my room.
"Knock knock"
"Come in"
Alana and Trinity walk into my room and sit down on my bed
"Hey"
"Hey. It's gonna be ok. Jack feels so terrible about what he did. He was just so mad about that your dad showed up. He was close to him he said" Trinity said
"He was."
"Knock knock"
"Come on in"
Trinity and Alana leave and Jack walks in
"Hey" I say fiddling with the presents bow
"Vanessa I'm really really sorry that I hurt you I just got so fired up and mad that HE came back and on your birthday too. We used to be so close and I looked up to him so it was so hard when he left us."
"Jack its ok"
He embraces me in a hug and we sit there hugging. Some tears fall off of my face onto his shirt.
"Should we open the gift?" He asks
"We shall"
I open up he gift and i pull out the most wonderful camera that I have ever seen. I thank him in my head for getting me this.
"Wow" is all I manage to say
"Wow is right Vanessa, he payed attention long ago"
"He did Jack. He really did. But he's gone now."
"We walk downstairs and I go into the kitchen where everybody is.
"LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!!"
