𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲 chapter one, the reunion __________________
Luminous light could be so soothing but it could also be so daunting. Lights have many meanings but what Karen wanted was to join the lights because all she feels is confusion. Karen eyed the purple and yellowish color appearing lightly across her neck. She shifted her gaze to see herself staring in a crack mirror. Her body fully covered in bruises, scars that imprinted on her as a reminder that whatever she accounts wasn't human.
Because no decent human being will do all what she has endured these past months. Sighing, she stood up, exiting out of the public bathroom and heading to the city. Gripping her purse she walked down on the sidewalk. She froze for a moment. What she saw was a familiar man that invaded her mind.
She shook her head, walking further to the middle of the city. After everything she is determined to save Nadeem; so much has happened and he won't be collateral damage. Karen will make sure that Nadeem survives this by going somewhere away with his family.
Walking she could see Foggy, Matt, and Nadeem all standing in silence; which she does not blame them. These days it has been pure despair. And the one thing she will do is make sure all of the hopefully make out alive.
Foggy glances up at her with a small smile on her face, "Hey Karen!"
"Hey Foggy," mumbled Karen as Foggy reached in for a hug. Foggy really is the best out of all them. Karen had glanced at Nadeem who seemed scared for his life. A man who swore to serve and protect—instead fell into a trap of manipulations.
Nadeem eyed the three, "Now what?"
"We are going to get your family out of the country and somewhere safe," murmured Matt, shifting in his feet. The catholic guilt really is getting to him. Everything that has happened; Foggy and Karen almost dying, and the other innocent deaths. It was too much for all of them.
Karen sighs glancing at the festive christmas lights that surrounded the city. She could not help but be slightly bitter that everyone could enjoy the holidays instead they are all stuck here slowly disappearing into the air; yet they won't give up.
