The drive to school the next morning was filled with awkward tension. Y/N continued on about what they should do that day to make Natalie and Logan more jealous, but all she got from Jenna were mere nods and shrugs as she looked out the passenger window.
The smaller girl was feeling uneasy about her and Logan's relationship. She was starting to wonder if all this was even worth it.
"What did Natalie and you do after you left?" Jenna asked out of the blue.
Happy that the girl finally spoke, "We hung out and she told me about her problems with Issac. They're definitely not going to last," Y/N smiled.
They pulled up into the parking lot and Y/N stepped out to open the door for Jenna. The action made Jenna smile and hold Y/N's arm as they made their way to the school's front doors.
"Jenna," they heard a voice call out.
Both girls turned and saw Logan walking towards them.
"Logan," Jenna deadpanned.
"Can I speak to you?" He asked eyeing Y/N. "In private?"
Jenna looked up at Y/N, the taller girl gave her a small nod and Jenna made her way over to talk with Logan under a tree at the end of the parking lot.
Y/N felt uneasy about this. Her gut told her to keep an eye on them.
She'll be fine. This is what we wanted. He's jealous and they're just talking.
Her self reassurance didn't work because her attention was still glued on the formal couple.
"Y/N!" the taller girl was attacked with a hug by her best friend.
"Hey, Nat," she looked to the right of her best friend , "Hey, Issac," she muttered.
"What are you doing? Class is about to start," Natalie said holding Y/N's hand and softly pulling her toward the school doors.
"I'm waiting for Jenna. I'll see you in class," Y/N responded not taking her eyes off the two under the tree.
"Fine," Natalie let go of Y/N's hand and walked off with Issac on her tail.
At this point Jenna and Logan were arguing and something told Y/N to get closer.
"God dammit Jenna! What are you a dyke now?!"
"For fucks sake Logan," the smaller girl replied while rubbing her temples. "What if I am?"
"Don't Jenna. I swear to god. Do you realize how much you've embarrassed me?!" Logan stepped closer to her. "Don't say stupid shit like that or I swear," he loomed over Jenna.
"You swear what? What are you going to do?" Y/N interrupted. She pulled Jenna behind her, shielding the petite girl from the daggers coming out of Logan's eyes.
The tall boy laughed, "Remember what happened the last time you didn't listen to me, Jenna? Want me to do the same to your girlfriend?"
Y/N clenched her jaw and furrowed her eyebrows.
What the fuck? He hurt her? I'm gonna fuck him up."Y/N. Let's go. He isn't worth it," Jenna tried to calm her, but Y/N stood still, her eyes still locked on Logan. One wrong move from the boy and she'd take her shot.
The scene was starting to look like something out of an old western cowboy movie. Each opponent waiting for the other to make a sudden move.
The school bell finally rang, calling students to their first period classes. "Saved by the bell," said Logan.
"I wasn't the one who needed the saving," Y/N spat.
With her focus still on Logan, she held onto Jenna's hand and walked her back to the front of the school.
Both girls watched as a livid Logan got into his car and sped away."I can't believe you dated him. He's such a fucking tool," Y/N shook her head.
"Yeah he is," Jenna responded.
Y/N, noticing her sad tone tries to give the smaller girl a hug, but she hesitated. Instead she puts a comforting hand on Jenna's shoulder.
"If he ever lays another one of his slimy fingers on you, I will personally chop them off myself," Y/N tried comforting.
"Thank you," the girl smiled up at Y/N.
"Of course...," Y/N looked down to the ground.
Silence.
"Hey, maybe we shouldn't continue this," Y/N said while rubbing the back of her neck.
Jenna confused, "What? Why not?"
"What if he gets mad again? What if I'm not there when he does? I don't want to get you hurt Jenna,"
Y/N grew with concern."Y/N, it's okay," she held onto Y/N's hand, "I want to continue. I actually-," Jenna paused, "I don't care for Logan and I's relationship anymore. He's not a good guy and there's no point in fighting for it anymore. I deserve more. I want to continue... to help you... of course."
Y/N smiled brightly, "Really?! Thank you thank you thank you!" She hugged the smaller girl. "Okay okay,"Jenna laughed.
Y/N let go and grabbed Jenna's hand, "Now, let's get to class, babe."
