Under a tree, you were chatting with Teppei. Finding his company most comfortable as you interact with him like long time friends. The both of you talked about past experiences especially in the field. Teppei seems to admire you greatly even though he has only known you for a short amount of time. His eagerness to learn more from you made you a bit boastful. But you still hid your line of work. Spurting out white lies here and there.
"But I can't blame him. It was only good to show ones dominance. If you want people to respect you, you have to put them in their place and show them who's boss. Make them remember who's superior. If you show them an act of kindness, people mistake it as if you'll do anything for them. Therefore, they abuse this kindness, slowly making you their slave. Never allow yourself to be trapped under someone's whim. Toughen up or be stubborn if you need to"
Teppei could only stare at you in astonishment. His eyes twinkling in awe and admiration. "Wow... that was... no words could express how I'm feeling right now. I've learned so much!" A smirk makes way to your lips getting cocky. "Make sure to keep my lessons in mind. Never forget it." He nods aggressively before punching the air. "Yes! I'll make sure to make use of this. This surely will improve my leadership skills!"
Pride fills your chest. Passing your knowledge to someone and teaching them was refreshing than you thought.
"Soldier, you have a new assignment" another of Teppei's subordinates came up towards the hill the two of you were in. Teppei immediately arose from his position. Face morphing in shock at the unexpected announcement. It was obvious he almost couldn't believe his ears from what he has heard.
"Really? Oh wow!" Teppei mumbles staring at the soldier in disbelief before turning his head towards you, looking back as if asking for approval. Hoisting yourself up, your arm reached out towards him before lightly patting his shoulder. "Make sure you won't disappoint me, tell me everything once you get back from your mission!" his face seems to bright up from your support before nodding his head. "I won't, see you later!" he says bidding his goodbye before running towards the soldier. His bright aura still shining in happiness. You waved at him while he did the same while following his fellow comrade. Getting farther and farther away from the hill before they finally disappeared.
